The Cortezs', not a poor family, but they loved to give. Their only daughter Miu Cortez was a soft calm girl. Her long soft pink hair cause by a chemical reaction that was once dropped on her head. She was pretty though. In her little town she was called Princess. She was loved by many men yet she never knew that. She was so happy knowing that her life was very pretty.
"Honey, I have a surprise for your 16th birthday!!!" said Miu's mother. "If it's something expensive you know I go to charity." "No dear, it's better!!!!" "Then what?" "Come on in!!" Miu turned to the door and saw a guy enter. "Remember Edward dear?" Miu's heart sank low. "I don't see my gift." "This is your gift. You use to play with Edward when you were small!! He came back from Norway!!" her mother squealed. Miu stood up. "He isn't anywhere close to joy." she said leaving the room. "I wonder what died..." "I guess that my bullying didn't help her like me."
Edward walked toward her room. "Miu?" "GO AWAY!! I'm not about to be thrown..." "I'M Not going to do that. Would you just open the door. I'm not 4 anymore." "Sometimes people don't move on when things like that happen. Expecially when you were only 3!!" "I'm not the present idiot. At least, not the entire thing. There's a surprise." oddly Miu heard softness in his voice. "What are you planning? Want to use a truck and squish me?" He laughed, "Get out, I've changed too much." "Edward! No way! " a girl walking down the hallway. "Marcy, what's up?" "Nothing. I suggest you not try to convince Miu, she's dead set that she must keep a large distance." Edward looked at the door. "I know that what I did to her was wrong but if she wants it that way. Ok." He left and Marcy knocked on the door.
"What do you want Marcy?" Miu said calmly. "Give him a chance. It has only started. Besides, you haven't seen the hunk he is." her voice turned from worry to sexy in like a second. "You disgust me. Are you sure you are in my family?" "Oh quite. If you don't take him I'll go." "Go where? And with him? Ew!" "If you go to mom maybe she'll tell you WHERE." "It's not..." Marcy nodded. "Are you for..." Marcy nodded again. "NO WAY!!!" Miu squealed. "I have always wanted to go there!!! ohh!! Here I come Osaka, Japan!!!!" "Yea, but be careful when you guys go there because sometimes the gangs can hurt you. It's a good thing Edward is going with you in three days.." "WHAT!!? No, if I go with him I don't go at ALL!!!" "Wait!! Miu you can't just give it up. You've been wanting to go since you were 6! For ten years now!" Miu was furious.
"So, are you happy?" her mother said. "I can't say yes and I can't say no." her voice was calm yet her mind was pounding to come out. "Don't worry. The hotel isn't bad." "I'm not worried about that. Man I'm tired. I'm going to go take a bath." "Aunty, where's Edward?" Marcy whispered. "He went to the garden. Weird though. He went towards the vally." Marcy's eyes flew wide open. "I'm following him." Macy ran as fast as she could to catch him before he left. At the door she spotted him closing the door. "EDWARD!" she screamed. He opened the door and saw Marcy running to him. "What's up? I'm going somewhere right now." "Yea I know where, i'm going with you." "I'm not going out with you Marcy." he sighed. "Oh no. hahahha. it's not that! I just know a resean why you're going there." she said.
"Do you know everything?" "Yea. I know you more than anyone. You told me the story once remember?" "I thought I told Julia....What ever. So I guess there isn't anything I can do to get you off my back?" She turned her head and smiled.
Miu slipped down and put her head back. "I need to forget it. That guy, how dare he just come back and act like he cares? He doesn't care!" she splashed the water. "I see that you are very uncomfortable." her mother said coming in. "I was hoping to fins you in the normal bathroom but it looks like you wanted to go to the spring baths." "It's the only relaxing place to go. The water in the bathroom was broken so i took my bath here." "I really should tell you everything. When he came back I thought that maybe he had told you long ago." "Tell me what? He tried to kill me and now he wants to manipulate me by bringing me BACK to the valley and having what he called 'fun". "No, to tell you why he did all those things. Do you want me to or do you hate him that much?" "Go ahead mom. I know your dying to tell me."
"When you two first met I could see it in his eyes. You weren't paying attention because we taught you not to play with people you don't know. When you met him you clung to me, I remember telling you 'Go dear, have fun. He is going to play with you from now on.' You were so small and when we put you two in the garden every five minutes you'd come to me crying. Until I went kept an eye on both of you from inside and I saw he was bullying you. "He never did it just to hurt you, it was so you'd pay attention to him. All he wanted was your attention." "Why though?" "Boys, men are like that dear. "Man Edward. Your so impatient. We only saw the valley for three minutes!!!!" Marcy complained. "I didn't want to remember too much." "No kidding!" They both walked inside the house. Miu was standing in the hallway. "Where did you guys go?" "We went to the..." Edward shut Marcy's mouth. "No where." he said softly and then walked away. "Oh, where two making out?" "Dear God no! We went to the valley. I wanted to stay but he left after only three minutes. That loser only hurt himself going there!" Miu was shocked. Maybe what her mother had told her wasn't all fake. "Why did it hurt him?" "Oh please! Don't tell me you haven't noticed the way he looks at you. With those anxious puppy eyes. He so loves you. He gets hurt when he goes to the valley yet he wants to remember. He is SO WEIRD! Hurting himself like that is sad."
Miu walked to her room and went to sleep. Edward walked in after an hour. "Miu." he whispered. "Uuurn." "Miu if you can hear me I want to give this to you. I know you don't want to go with me so I'll leave." he kissed her forehead. "Bye Miu."
Miu woke up immeidiately. She grabbed her robe and went to the guest's room. "Edward?" she said in the most gentle voice ever. "Edward are you there?" she walked in. She turned the lights on and the bed was untouched. She lloked out the window and saw him walking away. "Edward." she gasped. She ran outside and followed him.
"Edward! Edward! Where are you!!" she was screaming, her heart panicked. She fell down. "Edward!!!" She heard a rustling and stayed completely still. It rose almost 10 feet above her. It was a grizzly bear. 'I'm going to die! Oh God, take me with the love that you give. I'm sorry to have hated Edward. I'm sorry to have committed any sins. Amen.' she thought. "Miu!" Edward came running. "Whoa." he saw the angry bear almost on top of Miu. He ran towards her. "No Edward! Don't!" her voice was cracking. GRaaa!!! The bear swipped Edward and clawed him. "Oof. Mi..u." "Edward go away!" "I thoguht you wanted me gone." his voice sounded like he was in grave pain. Miu reached her hand out for him and the bear swipped his arm. Then it ripped Miu's pajama's, the low part. "Miu! Are you....*cough*....ok?"
"No go away! Please just go!" "No, I can't leave you to get hurt again. NOT AGAIN!" He grabbed a tree branch and flung it to the bear and then threw it. "He isn't a dog Edward!"
The bear ran after the stick thinking it was running away. "Yea, but he attacks anything that seems like its moving or running away." Miu got up. "Your injured. Why would you do that? Why didn't you go away? Why!?" she hit his chest. He grabbed her from the waist. "I didn't leave because I don't like to repeat the past. Miu. I left you alone to almost die once. I left you with a pack of wolves that were hungry. I wasn't about to leave you with a grizzly which can KILL a wolf." He looked at her in the eye, "Miu, I never hated you. I never wanted to hurt you too much. I was about to die because i know you didn't want me. I love you." he hugged her gently. "I don't think I feel much for you. I don't..." Edward pushed her face up and started to get closer to her face. "It doesn't matter. For now just say nothing. Just be the calm, beautiful girl you are." Miu was like a child in her father's arm. "Go to Japan with me. We'll get seprate room and I'll leave you to go on tours you want to go. I can stay at the hotel and not bother you if you want but give me the gift of going with you Miu." Tears flowed in her eyes. "Your a big....dummy!" her voice cracking. "Ow!" Edward fell to his knees. "What's wrong?"
She saw a flood of blood coming down from his arm. "Oh my....Edward come on! There's this extra cabin near here. The house is too far! We can change there!" He wasn't saying anything.
Miu ran inside the Cabin with Edward on her and put him on the bed. She was looking for the first aid kit as quickly as God let her. "Here!" she put some alchol to clean it and the put a bandage on his face since it was scrapped. "Miu..." "I'm right here." her voice was soft. She wrapped his arm and then cleaned the blood. "I'm so tired." "Go to sleep then." "I don't want to. I don't want....to." Miu looked at him. He wasn't that bad person she thought he was. He was only trying to help her. Ever since she was left for the wolves. "I think that I'm starting to love you Edward Mercado." she stroked his face gently.
The next morning Edward woke up in pain. He got up slowly and felt wetness. "Don't tell me I..." he checked under his covers. It was blood. Miu was next to him sleeping with a wet towel. He leaned over and kissed her forehead. He didn't move from where he was until she woke up. "Morning. sleeping beauty." "Gasp! Your arm! Let me change the bandage." She gently took off the bandage that was now bloody and cleaned it. "Miu?" "Y-yea?" she was blushing. "Do you think that if I try you would stay with me?" her face was more pink now. She was wrapping the bandage carefully. He was also blushing a little. For him her beauty was all he needed to see to make him heart thump. "Marry me Miu." his voice so gentle. She looked at him. "Im only 16." "Then date me. Love me. Please." "No! I'm too young." He grabbed her waist and gently kissed her. She refused it. She pushed and shoved and kiss him back. She was alreayd to weak to do anything. "You jerk! I was saving that! Now you just ruined it!" "I was also saving mine, i was saving it for you." "Stop it! Your all lying! You just want to kill me and so your manioulating my feelings!" She kicked him but it didn't hurt him. "Miu, I don't lie. I haven't lied. Don't you know that it's a sin?"
She got up and headed for the door. Edward grabbed her hand and she practically flew back. "Let go you hidious monstroserous thing! Don't touch me!" "I don't get it, you were different and now you hate me again! Why don't you calm down?" he said gently. "I know your plans. I know that if I fall for you, you would just hurt me worst than the first time!" she was scared. She tried to set herself free but he was too strong. "Why won't you accept anything? What villan would ask a girl to marry her?" "The super evil kind!" her voice hoarse. "Miu, I want you to be close to me. All i want is you to be here, by my side. Anyway, just next to me until I die." he stroked her forehead. "Just tell me what to do, anything." She looked at him. His eyes were sincere. but anyone could make sincere eyes. "You play a good part." she said putting her head down. "I'm not acting. Tell me what to do to prove I'm not lying?" She thought for a while. "Tell my parents everything you use to do to me. No lies, no reasons why, just tell them what you use to do to me and do not lie about one thing because if you do, what you just said to me right now was a complete and total lie." He looked at her shocked.
"Miu! Oh Miu I thought that you died! We were going to start a search party. Where did you go dear? Are you hurt?" her mother was frantic. "Mom, is dad here?" "Yes he is dear....Why?"
They all sat quietly in the living room. Her father was looking at both of them. "Don't tell me you want to marry her already!" he said in his booming voice. "No dad it isn't that. It's practically the opposite." She looked at Edward. "I just wanted to say a few things." he said. "If this about the trip, I can help." "No, it's more like the past." They started at each other. Her mom was shocked.
"Mr. Cortez, I think that you should know that I use to be an evil child. I'm pretty sure that your wife knows everything that I use to do. I use to hurt Miu. I guess you could say I bullied her. I'm the one that left her in the vally and I was the reason why she came crying to you. I use to hurt her and bully her, tease her. I left her in the valley because....." he looked at Miu. She was confused. This part she never knew. "....I left her there because I remember her saying how pretty the valley looked. I left her there because I thought she wanted to stay. When I heard 'Help' i knew she was in danger so I went running to you all. I wanted to say I'm sorry for having hurting her when we were younger."
Her father stood up angrily and punched Edward in his wound. "I don't want you to ever go near Miu again." Miu got up and pushed her father away. "Dad, daddy it's ok. Don't worry. I'm sorry, I'm the one who told him to say it just to prove that he wasn't lying to me!" He pushed his daughter and punched him again. "Don't you ever go near her again!" Her mom rushed over and held him too. "Dear please! Please stop it! There's a reason!" "Let me go! You hurt her, he hurt her! You left her to die! She could've died!" Edward stayed there on the couch, althought he was in great pain he was struggling to sit up. "I'm sorry." he choked out. "Marcy! Marcy please come!" Miu screamed. Three butler came with Marcy and held Miu'd father tightly. Miu's mother, the three butlers, and Marcy took her father to the room. Miu rushed to Edward, "Edward..." her voice soft and gentle. "I did my part of the promise." he said struggling for air.
Miu took him to the guest room and he laid on the bed. "Do you believe me now?" his voice quiet. "Some how, I'm still not sure. I don't know. I guess it's too much to take in." "Do you want me.......to die so you could.....believe me?" Her eyes flew wide open. He grabbed her hand, "Get me a knife." he said calmly. "No, no I don't want that." "It isn't so hard." he added. "Why are you going this far? What are you trying to do to me?" "The second question is my......question."
She took off his face bandage softy since it was now a corrupted injury. "It's purple, really purple." her voice soft. "Can I tell you...something?" he asked. "YEa, go ahead." "Did you know that you....changed me?" he said playing with her hand. Miu felt her heart beat faster, like it was pumping love. "I hope it's become clear to you that I.....love you." He tried getting up. "No lay down, your still hurt." she was gently pushing him down and he took her hands in his big hands. "Miu?" She looked at him, his eyes were so soft, filled with an unimaginable love. "Yes?" her voice matching his tone. He hugged her, more like fell on her. His head laid on her shoulder. "Marry me." She looked at his black shiny hair, like a fuzz ball laying on her shoulder. "I want to be yours. I want you to be mine. I want to protect you Miu. Marry me." Her words were stuck. Her mind concentrated on how soft and how velvet his voice was.
"I..." she was surprised a word came out. Her face was soft red. He turned his fce towards her neck, she felt him breath on her neck. "You smell so sweet." his said breathing unevenly. "I don't know Edward." "Your beat is fast." "I'm not sure though. So many things that I have been through. I don't think that I was ever going to end up being asked by you. If you want, ask me this in 2 years. I'm only 16." "I don't care. Lets run away and go to Japan and stay with me. I want you near me Miu. Please." She put her hands on her knees and Edward wrapped his arms around her. "Please Edward. Not this year. If you want me you'll be patient." "Then tell me you love me." she looked at him surprised. "Are...are you going to die?" "No, I'm going to sleep. I'm tired again." He lifted his head to put it close to her face. "Tell me you love me Miu." his arms still around her. She freed her hands to put them on his face. "I love you Edward." he smiled and then threw himself and Miu on the bed to go to sleep. "Night Miu." She was held tight by him and she could free herself.
Either way, she knew that she just started her future with someone that loved her alll along. She still hated him when she thought of the past, but she loved him when she saw his face and when they hugged their kids.
