If only I could make a deal with God and get him to swap our places...

1982: bioengineering takes place on the first steps of decessus.

Decessus is the life force and running form of Styrling. It means 'death' in Latin.

To counter the Russians near the unsuspecting term of the US/Ruso cold war, the government hired a corporation, GBEC, or Greenview Biological Engineering Corporation. There, under the close supervision of the US government, they created the first prototype of Decessus.

Decessus is a genetic virus within the confides of the 3rd grid of chromosomial columns. It controls the way the medulla oblangata, the control center for the anger and emotions, works. In there, is an extra center. It's the decessi control center. Centi is the technological name for this by the GBEC, declassified to even its own government until 1991. The DNA is coated with the Centi resin, causing it to send extra symbols to the brain, which are then transported to the main Centi center. The virus sends out signals via DNA to refresh skin cells with a new strain of Decessus every 10 seconds. The virus cannot be destroyed, even with the means of a nuclear explosion, because it is always evolving. Eventually, the host of the virus will turn into a walking Decessus patch, before getting extremely sick and practically dying in a coma.

When the host, Styrling, is enraged, scared, agonized, or badly hurt, the adrenaline kicks in, sending out signals from each receiver in the Centi DNA strands in each cell. Those are sent to the heart, which also has another extra control center, the Corpi center. After that chain, the Corpi inject a very high speed and extremely light, non-dense blue liquid into his veins, which sends an electric shock to the Centi center in the medulla oblangata. That makes every single cell in the body to react to the hormone sent out by the Corpi in a dangerously explosive way. If the core reaction gets bad enough, his surroundings will literally explode around him.

In the explosion, there are 3 steps. First is the production of the 'safe zone', a literal vapor barrier inside of the initial blast. It has a 5 meter diameter. Second would be the initial outburst. It's a multi-thousand kelvin thermal wave. Mostly anything within a radius of half a mile is vaporized, anything within a 2 mile radius turns at least 50 degrees hotter than normal. It dissipates as it goes outward. The third is an extremely powerful shockwave and explosion. The shockwave will cover at least a 6 mile diameter. Anything within a mile is usually toppled over or severely damaged. 3 miles is shattered windows and slight frame damage. 6 miles is an incredibly large noise and a couple rattling windows with a shaking ground.
The explosion rises up like a mushroom cloud, with a blue flame of Decessus woven between the dust and smoke. It will rise 2 miles or so before finally disappearing.

The plan for Styrling took an exhausting 6 years, from 1983 to 1989. Many versions of Styrling were created, many melting down and failing into sickness or not even waking up at all. By the end of the Styrling program, GBEC was on the verge of bankruptcy, and was abandoned by the government and labeled as a complete project failure. When the Soviets fell in 1991, Styrling was incapacitated and put into cryostasis in a GBEC facility. He was deemed never to see the light of day again, and be an example by the government not to mess with mother nature.

Styrling, for a strange lab project, is un-naturally 'pretty'. His eyes are a light blue, the same color as the Corpi chemical. He's got black hair that practically splashes over head. Commonly known as teh-emo-f** hair, except a little longer, no forehead showing, and on a less-shiny scale. It's rather matte. It looks as if he got out of bed for the most part. Most of it will be described in the RP.

His clothing is very complicated and is a technical wonder. As an under-layer, there are many tubes and rods shafted into skin and into legs and sides as a Decessi transporter to get anti-reactivity unless the time comes, and to gather important data for the suit's security system. The under-layer is not visible. Over that layer is 15mm titanium plating inbetween padding on chest, arms, legs, and back. That's not visible as well. The next layer, are grids of LED status lights, they are dynamic and change color with his body temperature. Blue is normal, green is moderate, yellow is medium risk, orange is high risk, red is extreme, and a blank white is 2 seconds until Corpi meltdown. Over that are thin and lightweight titanium plates that cover, from top-down, his shoulders, shoulder-blades, chest, back, elbows, forearms, stomach, waist belting, thighs, knees, calves. As extra thermal protection, he had on plated gloves that light up blue when the tube from it is connected to a socket in his wrist. His boots are white like the plating, and have LED lights in them that match the suit. It's basically like something from the future. All of this is needed to protect him from the extreme below zero temperatures of the cryostasis program.

His home and the only home he's ever known is in the GBEC Westridge's "Iceland".
