No one knows why Toonami was cancelled, but if you noticed at the end where Toonami made it's final broadcast, Tom says "Bang."

The voice actor for Tom is the same voice actor for Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop. Maybe that's why he said "bang" at the end. The guy's name is Steven Blum.
