Quick Updates + Grow Gaia Hello, Gaians! Well, I've been SUPER-busy trying to catch up in January, and going through all of the lovely applications I've received for the new positions that recently opened up on my team! mrgreen Some quick updates: • New Profile Layout: Sprite Info Hub I don't know why I didn't think of doing this sooner, but I realized that my profile page is pretty lacking in terms of information on how to report a glitch. I am currently working on a new layout to solve that problem, and will turn my profile page into an info hub for all sprite/virtual item-related inquiries (with the exception of EI's since pepper-tea and Stein handle that.) I'll also be putting together how-to's and make information on how to report glitches easily accessible for you all! • Contractor Applications We are still reviewing all of the wonderful applications we've received - over 100!! We want to make sure to give each candidate a thorough review. We are scheduled to finish the first round of reviews by the end of this week, and I will be contacting all applicants of their status. On top of that, all applicants who took the time and effort to apply who are also Gaia users will receive a token of appreciation from us! (And if you're not a Gaia user... you better sign up to get it! mrgreen ) • Grow Gaia on Folia This isn't work-related, but I'd like to invite any gardeners to join my group on Folia! Grow Gaia \| Folia DrinkyTengu and I have teamed up to garden together in my backyard this year - we are hoping that in 4-6 months we will both be stuffing our faces with deliciousness that we grew ourselves. blaugh • More Attention to Petitions For 2010, my team and I will be really digging into all of those petitions in forums to bring you guys more high-demand items. Keep those lists growing! I do have a request though: if OPs could keep their petitions organized and up-to-date so we can quickly and effectively look up item requests, that'd be fantastic - that way we don't have to read through tons of pages before finding what we need. I've asked my team members to subscribe to their favorite petitions and threads so we can review them together as a group on a monthly basis. Thanks everyone! I'm glad to see that there'll be more attention paid to petitions. I've seen people complain that Gaia doesn't listen to user generated ideas, but this will show that they do. I hope you guys manage to find some good ideas! xd 3nodding

you're snatching items from petitions? why not the official item request thread that's been up for years in Site Feedback? The ideas are aren't worth considering?

These things sound nice. biggrin I hope the glitch reporting can be more efficient and thereby help glitches be fixed more quickly. The petitions thing sounds good too, but I also agree checking out what has been often suggested but not yet made in the official item suggestion thread would be nice. Will you only be looking for suggestions for new items in the petitions though? Because there are petitions for many other item related things people would really like, such as suggestions for hair colors and styles in the salon (darker browns and more vibrant reds and really long, past the waist length hair especially are mentioned a lot), the ability to choose hair and eyebrows separately, requests for just some simple recolors of some older items, requests for more layering options for some items both new and old (meaning more items that have options like some masks do, where there's one pose layered under hair and another pose that is the same except over the hair, that kind of thing), et cetera. I want to see what the applicants get as their token of appreciation too. surprised Gold? Gcash? Some little display of their work in a site announcement or something? A special item that will now be obscenely rare (though hopefully not soul-bound)?

Thanks Juno, the new profile will be soooo helpful! I can't wait to implement the forms to report glitches.

Question:
Will there also be a form for layering adjustment suggestions? I'd really like to be able to wear some of those fancy foot bows(like the pair in the sugar plum fairy item, and the urn) with my slippers.

and good luck on your taxes! Hubby and i are getting 14.5k back this year.. YAY! for buying a house and having kids! rofl

I'd certainly like to see a more organized way to report layering glitches. whee

And dang. I'd submit a portfolio/application just for the "token of appreciation" ... except that I wouldn't be able to really do the kind of work Gaia requires. I have photoshop, a good computer, experience with Flash and Action Scripting ... but not the most important requirement... TIME! (Dang, where was this when I was unemployed, wasting all of my time on Gaia a few years back)... crying

It's absolutely fantastic that you're looking at the Petitions forum this year...

...but please please PLEASE don't just stick them all in RIGs. I don't even mind if they're bonus poses in EIs, but best of all would be gold store (Dernier, even) or MCs, or direct-to-CS release.

Putting them in RIGs is for me at least the difference between me spending money on Gaia, or not. I won't buy RIGs.

Thank you for paying more attention to petitions! I am glad you guys will be paying more attention to what we want...there are plenty of ideas in that forum that are really good! ^_^

Wow, over 100 applicants! That will be quite interesting to sort through, good luck! That's a lot of competition but I expected as much, I still have hope though *crosses fingers*

Oh, quick question, since I used my professional e-mail to send my application and it isn't linked to this account would it be wise for me to change that? I don't remember if I mentioned my username in my application at all sweatdrop

Please don't touch the petitions if you guys are going to keep doing things the way you have been. We do not want all of our highly-requested items to end up as ultra-rare RIG rewards like has been happening so much lately. It's disgusting that you guys are trying so hard to squeeze every last penny from our wallets when we're all as hard up for cash as you guys are. If you're going to look at petitions make sure the items go IN THE GOLD SHOPS WHERE THEY BELONG unless the petition states it as being an idea for a RIG/MC/EI. Because I can promise you that most of the petitions are not being worked on just so we can be forced to shell out real money for the items. They're wanting stuff for the gold shops that are more and more neglected all the time.

I mean, where's the Garage Sale update you guys said we would get a long time ago? You told a user once that you would make sure more arm ribbons similar to the one in the Heart String would be added in the next Garage Sale update, and that update has never come.

I've heard we're supposed to comment here with layering problems. If I heard wrong, could you please redirect me to the correct place?

Anyway, the shirt and gloves I'm wearing, specifically the shirt from Captain Ara's Nestegg and Those Black 90's gloves, glitch up. When equipped together, part of the sleeve sticks out of the side of the glove on the avatar's far hand. Could it be changed so either that doesn't happen and the gloves still layer over, or that the gloves go under the sleeves? Thanks in advance.

Please don't change them to bottom layering gloves if you mess around with the layering of those gloves. It's nice having gloves that can layer over other gloves at least. I'm still sad enough the medical gloves were recently changed to no longer layer over other gloves. emo I want those changed back.

Hi, Juno, how's everything? I hope that the new year is going great for you. I recently purchased the Thief of Hearts item and the item seems to causes a weird distortion with my avi whenever I try to equip items such as shoes, boots, socks, etc, if I put it on the lower body armor then it leaves my avi bare-bottom((a problem I also encountered with leg armor on the Valorous Heart)). I can't even equip Oculus Magica with the bodysuit pose. Of course this glitch has been reported by several others and was at a loss as who to talk to until I recently informed.
I realize that you're a very busy person and in no shape, form, or fashion do I wish to come off as rude. I'd just like for this glitch to be fixed as soon as possible as so that I can enjoy this item in it's entirety. Anway, thankyou for your time and take care. smile
