As I ran down 6th street, all the thoughts of my past filled my mind; it took it away from the pain in my legs. I loved to run. Maybe it was the thrill of running away from the world, even myself. I loved the wind in my long blonde hair, the rush of addrenaline, the feeling of never getting caught, I loved it all. When I ran, all those things came and welcomed me like i was family. Even though I was just goin accross town, it felt like a new demention. One made just for me. Running was an escape, but not today. Something wasn't right today, I couldn't place it but something was off, wrong maybe. I turned onto Capitol, I knew exactly why.
He was there. The man that had been stalking me for about a week now. He stood right next to the abandoned Van Slike mansion. Ms. Sliker told me that her grandfather once lived there, that is untill he died in 1994 when she changed her name from Van Slike to Sliker. She and her husband had fixed up the place but no one bought it off the market.
He just stood there, as if like a statue without a soul. Although, I still highly doubted that he had a soul, he freaked me out. He always wore the same gear: a long black trenchcoat with a hogh collar, black slacks, black combat boots, and a ring with a small flame on it. I never understood it but he always twisted it when he saw me.
Come to me... Said a voice in my head.
I turned around to see no one there, my left arm began to burn. I zipped back around expecting him to be on the other side of the street where he had just been, but when I saw him he wasn't 5 feet away from me. I screamed (and no one turned) and staggered backward. Then silence. He glared an empty glare and I shot one right back only mine was full of hatred, anger, and annoyance.
