Eleny Rose's Chronicle
Better...then, say poop...+STORY
I'm better, today. Better then, say, poop. I guess everything gets better when your mom shows up at school to take you to the doctor's office. The visit was quick, and guess what! I have a heart! And it works fine! Wow......

I'm also happy to announce that, after several months of hand mixing batters, we have finally replaced our 20-year old stand mixer with another, PROFESSIONAL KitchenAid stand mixer. HALLELUJAH!!!! Anyway, I guess I should continue Unnamed Book, huh? Here ya go!

I could feel peace. I could feel forever and love and serenity. Regina’s happy screeches were nothing to me. I allowed all of my senses to be shut. All that I knew was home. The ocean was my home, my solitude. It was where I could be whatever I wanted. All that was known to me was the crashing of the ocean, the cold of the ocean, and the waves engulfing my legs. I took one last look at Regina. Sighing deeply, I closed my eyes.
Suddenly a huge light flashed before me in the rain clouds on the horizon. My first impulse was to find Gigi. She was where I had left her, except she looked so horrified. She looked at me with eyes so glassy and petrified.

“Pack up your stuff! We’re gonna go back to the car!” She nodded and got to work while I stood up. The wind was picking up fast and it howled in my ears. My towel almost blew away, but I managed to retrieve it. I looked out into the horizon. The thunderclouds were huge, and coming out of them were little lines, so thin and straight, it looked as if they were the work of an artist. I ran over to my little sister. In a tank top, shorts, and flip-flops, she was shivering already.

“Wh-wh-what ab-b-b-bout M-m-m-m-m-m-om? I th-thought she was c-c-c-coming to get usssss!” She could barley move her jaw right, from how hard she was shivering.
“Sh-she w-would never come out in thisss,” I chattered. “C’mon!” It was raining now. A light sprinkle. Nothing big, right? Wrong. Thunder shook the ground. Lightning cracked the sky. Gina screamed. I was responsible for her. I grabbed my towel and wrapped it around us. Without letting the wind have it, I took off my beanie and put it on her. The waves crashed hard, sending droplets into our eyes. If we didn’t have a hard time seeing as it was. The rain got harder, pelting us with water. The parking lot! We could both see traces of our car, you know, it being bright yellow and all. Seeing the parking lot gave us motivation. We pushed against the rain. Pushed, pushed, harder and harder.
A gust of wind knocked Gina down. Lightning struck a nearby pier and Regina started scream-crying. For a minute we sat on the sand together, crying. I know that I wasn’t scared, but I was scared because she didn’t feel safe. I was shivering harder now. I had never been in a storm this bad—ever.

“W-w-w-we have to k-k-k-keep going G-gina. We have to. We’re so close!” I hugged her, shaking. She sniffed her stubborn sniff.

“Y-y-you’re right-t-t, Rufin-n-n-na. Let’s go,” she cried. I could barely hear her. The gray sky hurled buckets of hail-like rain at us. Lightning flashed every so often. We were so close. Two dark figures in the distance were approaching. They seemed to be roaring at each other.

“B-b-b-bears!” Regina cried. Bears? On a beach? No way. I was thinking about telling her how stupid that was, but I didn’t feel like harassing her, as you can imagine.

“M-m-m-m-mom! D-d-d-d-dad!” I hollered. The figures stopped arguing and ran into the fog at us. They shrieked with happiness. Taking off their coats and putting them on us, our family walked against the howl of the wind. The wind was too much for Regina, though. Dad picked her up and carried her the rest of the way. The parking lot. Finally. I collapsed on the ground. The rest was black.
