{A/N: Before I begin, I want to say one thing: the original idea belongs to mitsukivampire, who started this as an RP. I've adapted it to have a plot, as well as more character depth.}
"H-hey, wait up!" the little girl called.
Her best friend laughed. "Jeez, Kori, you're so slow!"
The girl pouted. "Jeez, Mira, you're like three years older than me!" Instead of replying, Kori simply raced up the hill, and touched the tree at the top. She laughed. "Dang it!" the younger girl shouted as she pulled herself up the hill. "And you promised to tell me that story if I won!"
"Weeeeeeeeeeell," the older girl sighed, "I suppose I could tell you anyways."
"REALLY?" Kori said, her eyes shining once again. "Yay!"
Mira rolled her eyes but smiled. "Okay, here we go." She sat down and leaned her back against the tree.
"Once upon a time, the world began to end: it was splitting in half." The younger girl gave a huge gasp, and Mira barely suppressed a giggle. "However, the diaster was so big, no one knew how to fix it."
"So what'd they do?" Kori asked, eyes wide.
Mira grinned. "I'm getting there, I'm getting there!
"So, no one knew how to fix the problem- Until one day, ten strangers came into the country and started to sew the earth shut again. These strangers had unique powers: one who controlled air, one with power over earth, one who wielded fire, one who could bend stone to their will, one who used water, one who could manipulate gems, one who controlled thunder, one who had power over lighting, one who could move ice, and even one who controlled life itself. Thanks to these ten, the world was saved.
"And now, whenever the world comes into danger, these ten are reincarnated, and once again, save the world."
