Rayse is a geneticly altered human. Given to science at the age of 10. Her parents where rich bureaucrats, whose greed to have the latest technology drove them to sacrifice their youngest daughter, for the sake of making history. For 14 yrs she was experimented on to the point of near death. Her ability to endure, saved her. Yet unfortunatly the time spent living as a lab rat drove her into a madness which the Lab Techs cured by putting her into an induced coma, stripping her brain of years of memories in the lab and with her parents. When she was brought back, lies where fed to her empty mind to fill in the gaps. Some things she is able to remember, while other important details she cannot.
Her parents played off giving her away by saying she had died. Even going to the lengths of a fake burial. When the virus came, the only member of her family that survived was her elder sister Halo, transformed into a vampire before the virus.
