Shot put / discus / hammer! Oh, mistress mine-- Where are you roaming? Oh, stay and hear! Your true love's coming, That may sing both high and low... I'm doing spring track, ya'll! shoots confetti Oh man oh man oh man. You have no idea how excited I am! First season of spring track for me- I previously only did winter. They're desperate for throwers, since almost all of them were seniors last year (and so are all in college this year), and the coach came up to me and asked, and I just gotta say yes. My knees are going to be an issue, but they hurt no matter what I do, so I might as well have some fun while I'm in pain. Oh, fun! So, what do you get to do? 'Cause I'm not exactly sure what a thrower is. Is it shot put?

That really doesn't sound like any fun, your knees. Do you have to wear braces?

Yup, shot put and discus. And hammer, I think. All things related to throwing heavy objects. xD

And uh, yeah. I have braces. P: they're prescription, and really high-quality, but were damaged by salt water from when I was kayaking over the summer, so I need to get certain parts replaced before the season starts.

Oh, high tech, eh? Can you wear them when you participate? I don't know how it works. I had a friend last year who did shot put, but all the games were at schools I couldn't get to. You see, I'm directionally lost.

Hammer is basically a shot- you know, the kind thrown in shot put- on the end of a chain. xD
And you spin around fast and let go and it goes wheee~

Of all of them, I think it goes the shortest distance on average. Discus can go like a hundred feet. The longest distance I've heard of in my school for hammer was thirty five, and for shot put, I think fifty.

I can wear them, as far as I'm aware. I did last season, in the winter P: Though not the fancy ones I have now. I don't get the cyborg looking ones though ;A;
Basically, you get disqualified if you throw outside the sidelines or step out of the circle. Generally I don't think there's much you could /wear/ to get you disqualified.
Oh, also, if you throw with a shot that's too light. They're supposed to be eight pounds, but sometimes they'll use six pound ones and try to get away with it xD They generally fail.

(o.o) How about I help split the bill and we get you some cyborg braces, then Mordy can brag about her mommy.
I suppose a cyborg arm could get you disqualified, but then I bet they didn't cover that in the rules. =D (maybe some ambiguous rule does)

Oh gosh, fail alright. That's two pounds lighter. I'm sure any player could figure it out.

Hmm. If one has a cyborg arm for a legitimate, non-shot put related reason, is it allowed?

Oh, trust me. A shot putter knows.
One of my chem teacher's students in a different period than mine was insisting this weight was heavier than a shot, so to prove it wasn't, he stuck it in my hand and had me stand in power position- the stance shot putters start in.
As soon as I got into position, I was like "HAHA no."
He said it was something like six pounds. The difference felt /really/ obvious to me. So.
