Chapter Two-The Great War
He awoke the next morning to find himself floating,where he should've fallen to the ground.He screamed then grabbed for the bedpost as he landed on his mattress,Keiran was still sleeping...that's a first...Oh well.He climbed down the ladder,as his feet touched the floor,he realized he didn't float anymore.He walked outside after doing his morning activities,and walked to school,oh how he hated Mondays...Midway through the day an alarm sounded,then shrieks filled the air.He looked around and saw the hazard from the window.A large army of insect-like demons charging the town.His first instinct was to grab a sword and go out swinging.He ran outside and slashed the head off of one of the aliens,its body fell to the ground.He had never seen an invasion this big,even though they happened fairly often.He cut 5 more down before he realized this was a fight they couldn't win.The leader of the aliens glanced and saw the only threat in the field was Arch's dad.It let out a fel screech then jumped and with a single sweep,took off Arch's father's head.Arch let out a roar so loud that everyone on the field was dazed for a moment.He started to glow as he arose to the sky,glimmering with a color similar to that of the ethereal that gave him the power.He screamed as the light dug into his shoulders,forming wings of light and blood,one wing was a crimson red,one was a sunny yellow.Keiran looked up,out of his heavy suit of armor and saw his brother.Keiran was a general in the Army of Gladeau (Glad-oh),Arch was jealous for this,but not vengeful.He felt helpless,his father had just died on the field of battle,and his brother was being attacked by some malefic force.He screamed and charged for the Bluzt (Bluzzt) that had killed his father,their leader,he slashed,but the large insect jumped back.The insect then stabbed him through the right shoulder,pinning him against a tree.Arch saw this and let loose a mighty scream,arrows of light and blood flew from his back,the center of his wing spawn,slaughtering every Bluzt in the plains below,but also many of his own soldiers.The wings faded as he slowly descended to the plains.Keiran ripped the blade from his shoulder,then signaled for a nearby healer.After his shoulder was healed,he walked into the field of the great war,carrying his own father's corpse to the burial grounds.He then went back out in search of his brother.As he neared the middle of the blood-stained meadow,he found Arch,barely alive.He couldn't move him or Arch would surely bleed out.He screamed for the healer,until one arrived."Don't worry,Arch....You'll be ok....You'll be ok....You have to be ok...I can't run the house by myself....you have to LIVE DAMN IT!LIVE!",he said as he stood over him in the infirmary,mourning his father's death and hoping he wouldn't have to mourn his brother's...
