My Life
Just a little bit of what goes on in my little world! ^_^
Fallen Angel - A New Story written by Me!
Fallen Angel - A New Story written By Me!

Prologue

Nineth grade. High school. I was starting fresh. i just moved from Pontiac, Michigan to the next city over; Waterford. I guess you could say Waterford lived up to it's name, surrounded by many lakes. I lived in a two bedroom apartment with my dad near the airport; the airplanes drove me nuts.
So I'm fifteen-year-old, about to start nineth grade at Waterford Mott High School. It was hard adjusting; they used this "block" system and divided them into three color codes, Red, White, and Blue. So if it was a Red day, you'd go to first, second, fourth, and fifth hours; White days were first, third, fourth, and sixth hours; and Blue days were second, third, fifth, and sixth hours.
First day of school, there's a long line in the front hallway of other nineth grade students waiting to get into the gym to get their class schedules. I got in line and nervously bit my thumb. The line slowly got shorter and I soon found myself standing in front of a table, a lady with short, curly brown hair sitting behind it.
"Name, please." she said.
"Katherine Boyd." I said. I shifted my bag on my shoulder as I grabbed the schedule. I read the schedule; first hour, Civics.
So I walked to my first hour class. The Civics classroom was in the back of the school, far from my other classes, next to the auto lab. The Civics teacher was an elderly man, no taller than I was, and wore glasses. His hair was greying from age, and looked like he was a teacher you didn't want to cross.
He assigned us seats alphabetically by last name, so of course I was one of the ones way up in front. I hated sitting in the front. When I was in middle school, all my teachers always made me sit up front, because I wore glasses; like I was blind. I could see just fine, thank you very much. I always felt like I had this blinding spot light on me. It was probably a good thing I sat up front in this class though, for the problem of my store sat in the last row.
I never really noticed him at first. Kevyn Reese; dark brown hair, brown eyes ( though I swear they were blue once), and pale as a ghost. He was the last student on the list and therefore sat in the very last seat in the back of the room, where as I sat in the first seat in class. (Why couldn't someone's last name had started with an A)?
And I went on not noticing him for awhile. The first day of school dragged on as I went to all six classes for the first day only; Civics, Science, Language Arts, Japanese, Gym, and Math. The teachers passed out textbooks and notes that needed to be signed. By the end of the day, all of my "nail-biting" nerves I had had that morning seemed to have vanished as quickly as they appeared. I couldn't wait to start learning and make new friends.

Chapter One

First week flew by quickly. Most of my classes we just took notes. Except gym of course. I ran around the gym, struggling to keep up as my asthma would kick in and tell me I was pushing myself to hard. Too bad my stupid gym teahcer didn't agree with me or my "out-of-breath" body. He yelled at me, saying I wasn't trying hard enough.
"Ten minutes or less for the mile run." he said. "If you can't do something that simple, I'm going to have to fail you."
Fifteen minutes, thirty-seven seconds; both times. That was only my second day of gym. Doesn't this stuff usually take time to work at?! It had only been the first week of school and I was already being yelled at.
It was now the first day of the second week. I kept to myself mostly. I rarely talked to anyone unless it was about school work. As for lunch, I sat alone.
"Hi, may I sit here?" a small mousey girl asked me. I nodded my head and continued to nibble on a chocolate chip cookie. I know it was only the fourth day of school, and making friends takes time, but I was overjoyed that someone wanted to sit at the same table as me.
"My name is Barbra." the girl said. Her voice was soft and squeaky, and she made me think that if mice could talk, that's what they would sound like. "But just call me Barb. I hate the name Barbra."
"Katherine." I said. "And same here. Just call me Kat." I smiled at her. And then my eyes fell on something behind her. I gasped, jumping up and knocking my chair over.
"What's the matter?" Barb asked.
But I couldn't tell her what I really saw; big, black wings pertruding from a boy's back. They were like black angel wings. I slowly sat back down. "Sorry. It was just a bug." I exclaimed.

It was a Red day today and I had Japanese class after lunch. That went for White days as well. Blue days I had third lunch and ate after Gym.
"Minna-san, konnichiwa." Mrs. Doyle greeted the class like this from the very first day. Having known a little bit of Japanese that I had learned in sixth grade, I was the only one that greeted her back.
Today, of course, was different. THe class stood and bowed, greeting Mrs. Doyle in unison; "Sensei, konnichiwa!"
"Alright, class, I'm going to divide you in pairs to practice greeting in Japanese." Mrs. Doyle said.
I got paired up with a tall, but semi-chunky guy named Jacob Lee. My first friend and high school crush. His hair was curly, but cut very short. He had blue eyes the color of jeans. He was always cracking stupid jokes, but that made me like him more.
"Watashi wa Jacob desu." he said to me in Japanese. He stook out his hand, and I relunctically shook it.
And that's when it first happened. It was like time was rewinding itself. Events that I assumed happened to Jacob throughout the day, played back to me as if I had pushed rewind on a VCR. I saw him leaving for school, and then...
BAM!
I felt myself topple over my school desk and fall on the floor. I blinked a few times, then looked at my classmates, who were staring at me oddly. Jacob helped me up from the floor and I brushed the dust off my blue jeans.
"Are you alright?" Jacob asked, as we left class.
"Yea." I replied. First the "black angel", and now this. What was happening to me?!
"Did you hear me, Kat?" said Jacob.
"What?!" I turned to him.
"What's your fifth hour?"
"Gym." I answered, sighing heavily as I was brought back to reality.
"Cool, I'll walk with you." Jacob smiled. "I have class next to the gym."

It was raining, so we didn't have to run the mile, as the track was outside. The teacher gave us "freebie" gym, so I decided to play volleyball with a few of my classmates.
Volleyball. My favorite sport. The only sport I was actually good at. My team always one.
But today my mind was wandering back to lunch. I was trying to remember if I saw the face of the boy with black angel wings, when something smacked me in the face, knocking my glasses off.
"Are you alright?" a short, blonde hair boy asked. The boy picked up my glasses and handed them to me. The boy was pale white and his hand was fragile looking.
"Yea." I said. "Thanks."
"Name's Carl." He stook out his hand. Afraid of what happened in Japanese, I didn't take it.
"Kat."
"So you don't greet people very friendly?!"
"Well..." I began. I paused. What was I going to say? I couldn't tell someone I just met that I could see things by touching that person. I wanted to scream.
Instead, I turned and ran for the girls locker room. I changed as quickly as possible and then ran for the bus drop off, not stopping once until I was on the bus. I slid into the seat behind the bus driver, sitting my school bag next to me. As I leaned my head against the window, I heard the school bell ringing. Students emerged from the school, some running to meet friends and toehrs getting onto buses. As for me, I sat alone. No one to talk to about what was happening to me.
One silent tear rolled down my cheek as the bus finally left the school for it's journey home.
