I was burning a lot. It got worse. I heard knocking and I opened one eye and saw Lilith coming down the stairs. Oh great. Now she would see me burning! The fire raged on and there was nothing I could do about it. My heart ached. I could feel it beating about a million times per minute. I tried not to focus on the fire but to listen to what was happening around me. I thought I heard Lilith leave. Well at least I don't have to deal with her anymore. I wondered if I still had to breath. I held my breath. I could hold it longer than usual, but I guess I was still part human so I need to breath still. My hearing sharpened. I could hear horses on the dirt road that was nearby the house. I could hear them breathing. And their heart beating. I could smell Adin. Then I heard Lilith come in.
