Old enough to feel the pain of the world
But “Too young to understand”
Old enough to feel the emptiness
And I don’t need to hold your hand
You know everything now do you?
Will you show me the way?
Of the crazy world that lies and kills
Just to see another day.
I seem so very naïve to you
But I’ll tell you what I see
A disgusting world of unkind rage
That I am one day to be
I’m “too young to really know”
I’ll “get it when I’m older”
But as the years go by, I see the truth
That hearts only get colder.
So if I am to be like you
Bitter, violent and struck
Then I tell you Sir, Madame, and so
I never want to grow up.
