When we read Medea the greek play, Mr. McCrobie made us write up an essay. The girls had to proove that Medea was innocent of murdering her sons, and the guys had to proove that she did.
Judge McCrobie, today I am representing Miss mdea in the suspicion of the homicide of her two songs. Both children were found dead, in Medea's home in Corinth. the just day before, her husband Jason had been found cheating on her with the princess of Corinth, now also deceased. Medea, begging for her children to not have to suffer, asked Jason not to le the boys be banished and stay with him in Corinth. He obliged, and while the boys were inside, they were brutally murdered. "Lost, oh lost! I am lost in my suffering. I wish oh I wish that I could die." Medea's nurse heard her moaning the day before the murder took place. She knew she was grieving tremendously. Later, it was heard that Medea scorned Jason for his unfaithfulness and yearned for revenge. The nurse feared for the children's safety and had them stay away from Medea. The King of Corinth, Creon, back to her and told her she was to be exiled along with her children. She pleaded that she wanted another day in Corinth, to figure out where she would go and what to do with the children. this proves fully that she truly cared about the safety of her children. She knew she had to "De Novo" or start anew in her life. Later, Medea had plans to go to Athens, and leave the children with Jason. Medea talked to Jason about this plan and he agreed it would be the best for the children to stay in Corinth. The children said their last goodbyes to their tearful mother, and as they wased into the house ther were murdered using a sword. There would not have been enough time for Medea to get into the house before the murders took place, and she couldn't stop them. When questioned, she said that if she were to kill someone, she wouldn't use a sword. She was too clever for that. She prefered a poison of sorts. The nurse also complied to questioning, and mentioned seeing someone in the shadows of the home. Medea rode out of the house with them and Jason, whi was still there at the time, jumped to wild conclusions and though Medea had been the one to perform the murder. In conclussion, Miss Medea would no have had the time, or prefered weapon to kill her children. She was too overcome with grief to tell Jason the tragedy, and set off to bury them alone.
