Musings, Stories, and Life
A place where I'll post rants, musings, short stories, and little snippets from my life. ...don't know if I'll keep it up constantly, but, who knows? It might grow on me~ If it does, expect long, LONG posts. XD I tend to go a bit overboard.
Chocolate Chores: Charlotte de Colde
((It's been a bit since I've worked on this... huh. Well, here's the next little bit that introduces my darling housewaifu/maid Char-Char~ <3 She makes me wonderful sammiches and cleans up the apartments. :3 Oh, and since I couldn't figure out a way to work this bit into the story without interrupting the dialogue, here it is- in this story, Jessica and Charlotte live together in an apartment that is connected to mine. Since we're all such great friends, we constantly go and bum around in the other's apartment. ^w^ So yeah, same deal as the last two bits~ If you have constructive criticism, please share it! owo I myself think the dialogue in this was a bit off somehow, but I can't really tell how or why... >.< wink )

Aurealis started slowing down the closer she got to her apartment. The stream of doors and hallways became a trickle, until finally she was standing in front of room 29. The door was scuffed and scratched, the wood a faded, homely brown. The doorknob was tarnished bronze, and the keyhole was of the same condition. The girl rummaged around her pockets for a brief moment before pulling out a key that was equally tarnished as the keyhole it belonged to. Inserting the key into the lock, Aurealis took a brief moment to calm herself before unlocking it. She then proceeded to kick open the door and declare loudly, “Honey, I’m home!” With a cheery grin, she strutted in and took in the surprised expression of her dear friend, Charlotte de Colde.

Choking on her own spit, she couldn’t help but be shocked. “Uh, Char-Char… is there any particular reason you have a squirrel up your apron?” Aurealis said, dumbfounded. The golden-haired woman in front of her laughed, somehow still retaining a shocked appearance. A frilly snow-white apron barely kept her decent. A matching frilly headpiece and red bow adorned her head, both making a perfect contrast to her hair. The end of a squirrel could be seen from the bottom of her apron, legs staying perfectly still as it hung on. Charlotte was dusting blue china on a brown stand, a purple duster completing her look.

“Silly Sky, the squirrel just seemed to be having so much fun; how could I have denied it?” She said laughing, continuing to dust the china. Aurealis couldn’t help the sweatdrop that traveled down her head at her housewife’s antics.

“My waifu, you shouldn’t be allowing random squirrels to ogle you, especially under your apron. Isn’t it distracting you from your work?” The girl walked to the nearby kitchen counter and dropped off her letter. Charlotte rushed over and helped her out of her coat, frowning in concern when she saw the blood stains.

“How did you hurt yourself this time, Sky-pie? I keep telling you to be more careful! At this rate, you’re going to give Jessica and I a heart attack!” She said, tsking in annoyance. Aurealis shrugged guiltily, looking away from Charlotte.

“I, uh, I managed to smack into a door just as Lee was coming out of it…” She flushed angrily as her housewife started laughing. “Oh, hush you! It’s not that funny…” Aurealis grumbled, trailing off as Charlotte continued to laugh even harder.

“Oh my, I wish Jessica was here! She would simply love this!” The maid-like woman continued to laugh as Aurealis started blushing even harder, cheeks a bright cherry red. A few moments later she calmed down, and patted Aurealis’ head. “My dear silly Sky-pie, you really need to pay attention more when you’re running around. Now, go to your room and change, dinner is almost ready.”

Aurealis nodded and turned, only to realize something. “Charlotte, where is Jessica, by the way? I thought she was going to be here for the rest of the day.” Charlotte merely smiled and motion to the kitchen’s refrigerator. Among the many hastily scribbled down notes and shopping lists, there was a newspaper clipping declaring a sale on Sailor Moon paraphernalia. The clipping was circled by a bright red marker, and a few examples of prices were underlined.

“She decided to go shopping without me, since I still needed to make dinner and clean up both apartments. She’ll be back soon,” the golden-haired maid said, smiling fondly, “so don’t be worried.” Aurealis nodded and slowly walked through the apartment to her room, barely remembering to grab her letter on the way there. Entering the room silently, purple eyes regarded what she considered to be her sanctuary, her hobbit hole she could always return to in times of need. Poster, puzzles and pictures were arrayed on the wall, and the whole place looked like a disaster. Picking her way through the mess on the floor, Aurealis flopped into her computer chair, and reclined back, a tired sigh escaping from her mouth.

No matter how hard she tried to resist it, the lack of sleep she had been suffering recently and the exhaustion from her strenuous job slowly stole up on her, and she relaxed into her chair. Numb fingers dropped the letter she had been so anxious to read on the floor, and her head lolled to the side.
