The year is 1583, nearing the end of the sixteenth century. Five adventurers, each eager for a new enterprise, are seated around an old oak table in the rear corners of the most popular pub in Florence, The Dragon's Grotto. Speaking in hushed tones, the five begin to plan an expedition, an expedition to locate the legendary cache of riches beyond their most imaginative dreams. They encountered only one problem; how were they to reach it? As old tales told it, the fortune was hidden deep inside the perilous Dragon's Grotto, where the old pub took on it's name. The grotto itself had never been proven to exist, but there were occurrences where it was said that rugged men were seen stumbling from the far entrance to the forest, screaming about having seen the grotto and it's threshold in the distance, but were unable to reach it due to the trials that stood between the grotto's access and the person themselves, trials that one person could not complete alone. Said trials were never described it great detail, and most of society pushed the incidents away, believing the being themselves was not mentally stable. Feeling confident in their group, the five adventurers dig up all they can about the hidden area, and they agreed that once they gathered up the necessary supplies they would require to maintain stable life over the course of their journey, they would return to the old tavern and set off on the adventure that will change their lives.
