Well, I do believe it's over between Sam and I.
I couldn't stand not knowing, so I called him and asked him straight up if I was still his friend. He paused and said "Well I won't be hanging around you anytime soon."
From then on, he didn't exactly give me a straight answer. In fact, I said "Does this even bother you?" and he said "Well, I don't let it."
...I wish I could do that.
I just, don't feel like it's there...anymore. I'm really sad, yet relieved.
At least I can move on, though. If he comes back sometime down the road, I'll deal with it then. For now, I'm just going to move on. If he can do it, so can I.
Please, tell me that I did what's right, and that I didn't make a mistake.

You did what's best for you, and in this situation, it's exactly what you needed to do. Maybe Sam will come back, maybe he wont, but you are the rarest type of friend. You're amazing. If he cant see that you are worth going through a few difficulties for, then he doesnt deserve you as a friend. Although, he was your best friend, and I can understand it hurts, I wish there was more I could do then type out words of comfort for you, but since I cant, all I can do is offer you my full support. I love you. I'm always here for you.
