Hm.
I'm considering going vegan. I'm not really a PETA nut- actually, I hate PETA- and I can't stand these elitist vegans who go nuts on anyone who's not One Of Them (including vegetarians, which I always found stupid) but there you have it. I'm not gonna be bitching at ya'll for eating meat anytime soon, but it just sounds like an option. Eating meat makes me feel bad, anyway. >_> No joke, I once at some bacon and cried when my mom pointed out the fact that it was made of pig. I mean, I obviously knew that, but having it pointed out while I'm eating it isn't really uplifting.
Anyway. We'll see what this amounts to. I might hold off 'til I'm on my own since my parents freaked out when I was just a vegetarian about my health and all this- plus, when I'm cooking my own meals, I can regulate what goes into them. I found some kick a** vegan dishes I want to try to cook, but yeah, the carnivores kind of dominate the kitchen, so.

Hey, my brother went all vegetarian this year. He still eats fish, but he chose to do it 'cause the environment, his health (he's already healthy, the jerk D< wink , and he says he doesn't want to be apart of inflicting pain on animals. My mom and I asked him about the fish, and he said they weren't proven by science to feel pain (or some mumbo jumbo answer I didn't really understand).

But the point it, we cook meals for him. Like, we had spaghetti, and made a meatless sauce for him (an me). I know my cousin has the same situation going in her house. At thanksgiving she was made a different main meal to substitute the turkey.

I'm more of a carnivore (as in very few veggies) for the fact that after reading Please Save My Earth I believe plants feel pain too! D,:

You can add tofu and the like to your food and keep up your health, you know. You should research a bunch of articles to prove to your family that there isn't a problem. Unless it's the fact that since you're German and Irish that's the problem. Since I was told you mainly eat wurst and potatoes. :

I'm rambling again.

Yeah, my opa said that fish don't feel pain, and, well, you know. Every science, he has a hand in. Don't know how he manages to know so much without having a meltdown, sometimes.

Anyway. Maybe the cultural thing does have something to do with it, haha. My family's full of wurst-addicts. I should probably stage an intervention or something.

They adapted a bit to my vegetarianism, similar to how you adapted to your brother. My mom would make, like, meatless chili for me, and vegiburgers when we barbecued and so on. So. I guess they could handle it. P: maybe I'll talk to 'em.
