Distinguishing features: Xero Tsurugi has an odd appendage that comes with the noble family he is associated with. All in the Tsurugi Noble Clan poses a tail. This tail is well muscled and extensive trailing has gone into fighting using the tail in any way possible.

- Zanpakuto Spirit Appearance: As seen up the top and much like the actual release of the sword, the spirit also possesses no true form. Sono usually takes the appearance of a muscular male with a red tattoo on its left shoulder, its lower half covered by the tattered remains of a Hakama. Its skin is gray and no face is ever seen with the body, if one was to see the spirit face to theoretical face then they may be slightly unnerved by what they see. Even though the spirits appearance is thus, it can also speak and see perfectly fine. Because no true shape is present there is no true gender for the spirit though once again the male preference is usually taken.

- Zanpakuto Shikai Appearance: No absolute appearance though when released the sword completely disintegrates, handle and all into a metallic like mist.
- Zanpakuto Shikai Abilities:
* The metallic like mist created from the shikai released has two separate abilities. The first being that the mist itself can act as a weapon and can cut an opponent where ever it touches their skin though the wounds are not overly deep though enough cuts can begin to cause serious problems due to blood loss. Also it can be used as a defensive shield if required.
* The second ability, and Aidos much preferred skill, allows Aido to form the mist into any weapon he can possibly imagine. There is no limit in size for it can rang from a simple dagger to the size of a scythe or Naginata. The mist in Shikai can only create one normal to large sized weapon or two dagger sized weapons, at a time though the weapon can also be broken into parts, for instance if the mist forms into a sword and the sword is somehow broken in two the the broken shard(s) can be controlled separately by Aidos will.
* The mist can also be concentrated onto a certain limb to increase damage such as a fist or metal boots.

- Zanpakuto Bankai Activation Statement: Senkei Sono Shiranai
- Zanpakuto Bankai Appearance: At this stage of release the Bankai has once again no absolute appearance. The Mist now joins Aidos body and he becomes the mist though some still lingers so his shikai abilities remain.
- Zanpakuto Bankai Abilities:
* The first noticeable thing about Aidos bankai is that the mist now increases greatly in size. This allows for the shikai attacks to still be used though in larger quantity. Up to 5 separate weapons can be formed and controlled individually. The mist itself can also do deeper damage and if used correctly, like Aido obviously can, it could sever limbs if the cut is deep and accurate enough.
* The next ability would be known as Unification. Aido literally joins with his Zanpakuto and is coated in a completely metallic armor though it is like a living organism for it does not reduce movement, speed or flexibility. He basically turns his body into a weapon. Its density being equivalent if not greater then the strongest Heirro. With this unification Aido can now manipulate his limps to change them into any weapon he wishes, ranging for Lances, blades, Bows, Axes. Anything he wishes. The bow section fires metallic arrows created from his body, the metal used for the arrows can be regenerated so if he fires his left arm as an arrow it will grow back. This is not the same though if a limb is severed even in this form. In this form he cannot create the 5 blades for all the mist is used to coat him.
* The final ability requires great concentration but the devastating effects are worth the preparation. Though the mist has increased to the point of being able to make 5 blades, this final move then number quadruples. Due to the increase in mist from this new state Aido can surround the enemy/opponent in a sphere of mist. Then he can create numerous daggers or Shuriken, given their small size an unknown number can be created. These can then be used to stab and wound the enemy with so many small yet deep cuts that it could literally tear an opponent apart in an instant. The draw back being the preparation needed, this means it is basically a last or final ability as said earlier.

63. Souren Soukatsui (Twin Lotus Blue Fire, Crash Down) — Essentially a doubled version of #33, this spell fires two shots of blue fire with greater potency than the single-shot variety..
Incantation: "Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! On the wall of blue flame, inscribe a twin lotus. In the abyss of conflagration, wait at the far heavens."
88. Hiryugekizokushintenraiho (Flying Dragon-Striking Heaven-Shaking Thunder Cannon) — Fires a gigantic blast of spiritual energy resulting in an truly enormous explosion.
90. Kurohitsugi (Black Coffin) — Forms a box of black energy around a target, which is then pierced by dozens of energy "spears", lacerating the one inside from head to toe.

1. Sai (Restrain) — Locks a target's arms in place behind their back.
4. Hainawa (Crawling Rope) — An energy rope entangles a target's arms.
8. Seki (Repulse) - Creates a round shield that seems to temporarily paralyze and repel whatever strikes it.
9. Geki (Strike) — Engulfs a target in red light, completely paralyzing them.
Incantation: "Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini! Look upon yourself with horror and then claw out your own throat!"
26. Kyakko (Curving Light) - Hides the target from sight, presumably by bending light.
30. Shitotsu Sansen (Beak-Stab Triple Beam) - Shoots three beams of light that pin the target to one place on a surface, slamming into his/her body in three places in a shape of a perfect triangle.
37. Tsuriboshi (Suspending Star) - Creates a star-shaped cushion of Spiritual Energy, which anchors it to nearby objects with "ropes" of spirit particles. It can stop falling objects, acting like a safety net.
39. Enkosen (Arc Shield) — Summons a shield of condensed Reiatsu to block opponents' attacks.
58. Kakushitsuijaku (Summoning of the Tracking Sparrows) — Tracks and locates any spiritual force the user focuses on. To activate it, the user must draw a circle on the ground, cut into four parts with a specific character in each. The incantation animates the circle, causing various numbers to appear within until the specific set is found. The number set seems to be a variation on longitude and latitude.
Incantation: "Heart of the south, eye of the north, finger of the west, foot of the east, arrive with the wind and depart with the rain."
61. Rikujoukourou (Six Rods Prison of Light) — Summons six thin, but wide, beams of light that slam into a target's midsection, holding them in place.
Incantation: "Carriage of Thunder. Bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into six!"
62. Hyapporankan (Hundred Steps Fence) — A rod formed of energy is thrown towards the target before it disintegrates into numerous short rods which are used to pin the target to the surroundings and render them immobile.
63. Sajo Sabaku (Locking Bondage Stripes) — Binds the arms of a target. According to Hachigen Ushōda, physical strength alone should not be enough to break out of a level 60 Bakudou, however Kensei Muguruma was able to free himself from this Kidou while in his Hollow form.
73. Tozansho - Creates a pyramid-shaped barrier around the caster.
75. Gochutekkan (Quintet of 1 kan Iron Pillars) — Summons five incredibly tall and thick pillars to pin a target to the ground.
Incantation: "Walls of ironsand, a priestly pagoda, glowing ironclad fireflies. Standing upright, silent to the end."
77. Tenteikura (Heavenly Rickshaws in Silken Air) — Transmits messages to anyone within Soul Society. In addition to reciting the spell, the user must draw specific markings on their arms, which are animated by the spell to convey the messages.
Incantation: "Black and white net. Twenty-two bridges, sixty-six crowns and belts. Footprints, distant thunder, sharp peak, engulfing land, hidden in the night, sea of clouds, blue line. Form a circle and fly though the heavens."
81. Danku (Splitting Void) — Creates an energy barrier in the form of a rectangular wall. According to Byakuya, it is capable of stopping destructive spells up to #89.
