looking for anime recs
well, since some lazy ******** at work decided to cover their a** by blaming the fact they weren't getting done what they were supposed to do on ME I now lack a job, and considering I live in MICHIGAN this means without an assload of luck I'll be a while finding a new job.

to pass the time I'm looking for suggestions of anime to watch, preferably stuff that's being streamed legally or maybe some older stuff (80's or earlier) that's good but never got licensed and likely never will.

I do have a backload of anime DVDs I've either never finished watching or stuff I watched fansubbed but haven't watched the official release yet, but I'm looking for some other options because sometimes I tend to skip around, watching a few eps of this, then some of that, then something else, then go back to a few more of the first. there's also the fact that as much as I do try to keep up with good titles sometimes I miss some, and this could be a chance to find those gems I missed.

my taste when it comes to anime is pretty eclectic. I love so bad it's good stuff, sci-fi and fantasy, I like a well done shonen action series on occasion, but I also love a nice deep seinen title, I'm not big on vampires but if they're done well or amusingly I will go for a vampire series, I love things involving mythical animals AND prehistoric animals, I don't mind romance in a series but I don't go for a series that focuses mainly on romance unless it has a good twist or is VERY well done, when it comes to gender relationships I don't mind heterosexual ones or homosexual ones, I'm turned off by too much ecchi fanservice but if there's some or it's plot relate I'm more open to it. I also don't mind filler as long as it's well done filler. heck, one of my favorite titles is Blue Seed, a 26 ep series based on a two volume manga.

but, yeah, I am kind of pissed at this whole situation. I spent over 5 years giving my best, working sometimes beyond my limits, I had customers regularly praising my work, several pins recognizing my hard work, as well as comment cards on the breakroom board showing glowing praise from our customers... and I get canned because someone who regularly zoned out and left their post decided to be a major a*****e and blame their lack of getting their job done on me.

good news is I may be getting a job at B&N because a friend of mine works at one and is more than willing to put in a good word for me. perks at working at one of those include employee discounts and being able to borrow books (including manga!) for 14 days. with any luck it'll work and I'll be talking my dad into multiplying the amount of shelving that's already in the house.

Tatakau Shishou: Book of Bantorra (You can find it legally on CrunchyRoll smile )
Umineko no naku koro ni
Fate/Stay Night...
Those are all I can think of right now.. .__. Good luck on finding a new job! (And that B&N lending things sounds pretty neat!)

That sucks, well, your superior is going to realize the huge mistake they made by letting that person get rid of you. Hopefully the asshat's incompetence will be clear to them and then they'll let him go after trying to find someone of your caliber. Anyway...

Not sure if what I've got on my list would be what you're looking for but I'll give it a shot.

After War Gundam X - If you want to know how to acquire this ask me through PM - It's a good Gundam series that sadly didn't get that much attention since it came out after Gundam Wing and was given a bad time slot in its airing in Japan.

Spice and Wolf II on Anime News Network's stream - Warning, it can get tedious.

Tower of Druaga - Aegis of URUK - It's got humor in various parts, it's shounen. Just stay away from Sword of URUK unless you just want to see closure of the first series.

Moribito - Tons of action with a strong female lead.

Since I recall you have Crunchyroll, I hope you'll try out:

Erin
Black Jack

AND FINALLY

Black Cat... Just Kidding, I know you've already finished it.

But really... How about Get Backers, it has a duo that's just like Sven and Train.
