...
Quitely, Ludwig's head slung towards the ground. The pitter-patter of his footsteps calmy tipped the soft, wet, mushy ground. Rain poured on-top of his hat. The silver engraved symbol shined in through the dark world which surrounded him. Nothing was getting in his way, except for his mind. Everything was dead silent.

Suddenly, Ludwig turned his head as the sound wall was cracked by a bullet. His eyes opened, only leaving his shock left inside his body. Another one fell to the ground, crying in pain. The soldier fired another bullet into the victim's head. His body limpy fell to the muddy ground.
And of course, the soldier stepped away as if nothing had happened.

It was another normal day in the Holocaust.

---

The next morning.

Light shined in through the creaks in the window, waking Ludwig from his not-so-deep slumber. He scrubbed his eyes with a tight, sore, fist. His hair messily fell down into his face. And magically- it was calmer outside today.
He dressed himself in his usual uniform, and managed to get his aching body up from the bed. While opening the door he was greeted by his other soldier friends. They all at once clamped their feet together, and violently raised their hands into the air. Ludwig did so with utter dispair. His fellow comrads all gave a smile to each other, and walked off. Ludwig, his feet slowly dragging along the dry ground, managed to step hiself outside. Surprisingly, the air didn't smell of burning flesh, and the ground wasn't stained with the blood of poor, innocent human beings. His little daydream was snapped in half as the Kapo of a near-by shed was poking him.

The Kapo instructed with a loud, rash voice that Ludwig had step into the building. There was trouble. And just as Ludwig had expected, the peace and calmness of the day was once ruined by the screaming of people's mouths as he entered the door.

Punches we're being thrown everywhere. The air was filled without one bit of silence. One man lay on the woodfloor, bleeding from his mouth. Immediately Ludwig stepped into action without thought, and threw his body right in the middle of a fight. He was surprised when he saw the victim was a young girl, about the age of 20. Her orange hair ravled out of it's bun, falling into her face as the other man threw another jaw-breaking punch into her face. Ludwig heard a crack as one of her teeth pumbled to the ground. Without any hesitation, Ludwig pulled out his baton and slammed it into the commiters leg, making him fall to his knees in pain. The girl whispered something afterwards.

" Thank you.."

Ludwig stood in shock. No Jew had ever thanked HIM before. No Jew had thanked him for beating them, no jew had thanked him for ruining their lives, no jew had thanked him for beating another one up.

Another German soldier appeared into the scene. Suddenly, his leg flew into the air and cracked the bone in the girl's hand, making a loud scream burst out of her mouth. It rung in Ludwig's ears. His hand slowly inched towards her to help her as she was being beaten, but it was interupted by the other soldier.

" What in God's name are you doing? This Jew DESERVES it! "

Ludwig interupted with a small murmur, " But she didn't - "

The soldier paused in shock. He slowly turned his head over to look at Ludwig, in which was standing extremely still in terrifying anger. His face was described as disgusted.

" Are you kidding me? No Jew deserves to have mercy on their excuses for souls! " The soldier replied with anger.

Ludwig shakingly nodded, and stood firmly in his spot as the soldier whacked him up-side the head, knocking his hat off. He stormed out of the shed, slamming the door with rash force. Angrily, Ludwig bent down to pick up his hat. As his face rose from the floor, he looked over at the girl's beaten up body. Her eyes dragged down her face in sorrow as bruises also covered her ..beautiful, face.

In sympathy for the girl, he said with a very soft voice, " I'm sorry. "
Ludwig stood from his spot on the floor, gave the boy whom was beating her a death glare, and left the building.

--

It seemed as if the day passed to night in no longer than 10 minutes. Before Lugwig knew it, the bright beautiful blue moon shined above him as he gazed into the sky. His feet stood still, his body laying up against his shelter. The stars had never looked so ugly in his entire life. This day was probably the worst one he had spent at Auschwitz. The image of the girl was still stuck in his head, the blood drooling down from the corner of her mouth.
