Alana was an 18 year old girl, in her final year of high school. It was a normal school, she had normal friends, but she herself was far from normal. She could change herself into anything she pleased. A wolf, a tiger, even a dragon. She was not limited to one form. She was not a Selki, she did not need the skin of the animal to change and she was not a loup garou for she didn't only stay as a wolf. Her favorite form was a black panther, she would hide among the trees behind her home and practice hunting small pray. She never killed the things for even as a hunter she could not bring herself to eat them. She was a quiet girl, keeping to herself for the most part and losing herself in her painting. She had a dark and tortured soul because of all the secrets she had to hide and untrained power she didn't know how to get rid of. No one knew what she was, not even her parents. Her parents were not magical in any way. They were the most boring parents on the face of the planet, she knew no one who could help her. Alana looked normal for the most part, except for her eyes. Her eyes always brought comments and weird looks. Her friends believed they were just contacts and she let them believe it. She had crushes on one or two guys in the school, but the never lasted long. If they knew her they avoided her and if they didn't, they were warned.
School ended and she ducked out of English class and hurried home. The sun was out today and the weather was warm. Perfect napping weather for a panther. She wiggled in delight as soon as she stepped through the front door. Her parents were never home till late in the evening both owning their own businesses. She tossed her book bag onto the chair by the door, ran up the stairs to her bedroom where she promptly removed her clothes and changed into her preferred form as she jumped through her open bedroom window. She landed gracefully on the roof quickly scanning the area to make sure no one saw her before she jumped down and dashed into the woods.
