Nocturnius Libris
Day 326 - Very Late Night
A fierce punch stopped cold just inches from my face. A slash of my arm across Orthos's gut leaving a long gash as the sword positioned over my own arm deals a deep wound. I jump at him and in mid air, kick off his massive arms. In mid air the Black Judges swirl around me, all 5 blades swirling around me in a dance of doom and death, reducing his arms to bloody remnants of what they were. Bits of muscle and bone scatter to the floor around me. I see them as fleeing, if the smallest bits of him are scared and flee at the cut of my blades, he's scared. He should be. So am I. The bits of black still trickle down his lip where my Shadow Expell caught him.

But he doesnt quit. My feet hit the ground, both my arms rest at my sides and immediately are flung forward. Maxtor, Maximar, the sword by my left and right arms fly forward slicing his legs at the ankles, but he doesnt quit. He immediately moves into a barrel roll. Lumika, Lumina, Nocturne, the 3 remaining blades take up an star formation with his fist at the apex of the star. I hear the nachstal crackling under the massive force of his fist. He bears down with everything he has left. He is going for a finale. A final blitz holding nothing back, one to definately and completely decide the victor of this match, blood or glory, he swings in his already infamous Berserker Blitz. He will not have the dishonor of knowning he's held back anything. My blades spring into action, as quick as I can identify the punches they are their to take the punches for me. They defend with their blades not their flats, each punch weakening the metal and slashing off a bit of his flesh, but he does not stop, or even slow.

Finally I hear it, the roar of the lion. The Orthos Signature finish, Heart of the Leo. His right fist leans back and comes careening in, the telltale roar rippelling out across the stadium, overpowering the roaring crowds. For a moment the Heavenly sky darkens as the Zeus Bolt strikes his powerful fist, in the same moment the Hermes Gust picks up the force of his punch to incalculable measurements. The two form the fangs of the line, and the wind which blows its mane. He could punch through a mountain. But instead he punches with one. Hephestus Olympiad Burst, a chunk of rocks arises melding around his fist as it soars closer forming the growling face. I feel the power threatening to tear me limb from limb. Posideon's Wrath, the sweat from his brow whipps around his hand forming the lions mane. And finally, in the split second instant, Aries Rage, the firey red eyes of the lion's head which has become Orthos' fist. I sit staring down the power of the gods, more power than I could ever dream to muster. His fist comes down to smash me like a bug.

My stance is low to the ground, my one true blade at my hip. My hand nestled around its hilt, my sweaty fingers creeking around the ergonomic grip. I channel my newest allies, Maxtor, Maximar, Lumika, Lumina, Nocturne, family and foe I feel the power surging into my blade as the 5 swords once whirling about me each intwine with my one true blade, the Nameless. The Kage-Shin. My shadow spirit. The shadows surge through my arm, writhing up and around me, my eyes turn darkest black surging with the rich violent sparks which have become my signature.

Orthos wants an ending. I give it to him.

The fraction of a second that follows passes by like a lifetime. His fist towers down upon me, two fast for me to dodge, to powerful for me to take. I cannot give up this stance, I manage only to slightly shift to the right as his fist tears through me. I feel the bite of the lions fangs, the tear, the burn, the rage.I feel myself shattering, from my shoulder where his fist enters down to my left hip, I feel the pieces gouged off my form and twisted away, vaporized into little more than a memory. Only the useless transparet spirit within remains, floating idly.

As his fist tears through, I see the smirk on his face as he realizes his mistake. He attacked and was successful, but his attack was too high. My right remains gripped on the hilt of my Nameless. My shadow spirit. We share a smirk, a silent fighters recognition.

With a flick of my wrist, and a snap, the match is decided.

My blade is released, in a swath of blacks and violets swirled in indigo lightning, and blotchy flame my sword is wretched from its sheath. I feel it resist, I feel it tug, but I master it. The sword is unsheathed and hums as it slices through the air, and instantly strikes the fatty muscle tissue of his abdomen...and it slices.

There is no resistance, this blade as never known the meaning of such a thing. It tears through cleanly and completely. The force of the massive release of energy from the sheath carrying me forward in place, forward and past Orthos. I hear the sound of flesh being rent from its home as I tear him in twain. His body lies still, unmoving in mid punch as I come to a stop behind him, with my back to him.

The power of the Shadows swirls around my good arm, rippling through my viens. I gently slide the blade against the mouth of the sheath, and then in. The sword hums a satisfied release and then the final twist of the hilt and...snap.

In that moment, in the second in which the sword hilt makes its now all too recognizable snap, Orthos falls in twain. His upper body sliding off off the clean cut between his ribs and his spine. The remnants of the Shadow Expell leak from the open wound along with his fresh blood.

I return to my human body. The visible spirit transforms from transparent to rather solid and then proceeds to shatter off, so too does the shadow shell covering my body. Underneath lying my human form. Cracks and cuts, now turned into visible slices and bruises. My left shoulder, clavicle, arm, elbow, half of my ribs, and a chunk of my left hip are shattered. The flesh hangs bloody and low like a sack of broken meat. The pain is beyond measure, I feel as if half my body is being dragged in a pit of shattered bones and jagged edges. Each step is a tiny hell, but to hobble away from the Tournament of Heroes, Championship Match...no I force myself to walk. And then I hear it.

"Good match Maximos!"

He calls out. His spirit having already shaken off the mortal coil, and standing above his body with a bright smile across his pearly white teeth. Once dead, death becomes nothing. We fight to the death, its really the only limit that counts.

"Thanks! I hope we get a chance to do it again!"

I call back, waving my good arm as I walk to the Re-Birther room with Orthos' Spirit, we needed to freshen up for the closing ceremonies, and celebration. We couldnt go to the party all torn up, could we? Believe me, these people party in ways I couldnt imagine, and some ways I wish I didnt see.

In short...my dearest Journal, I'm sorry its been so long, but I won! I've heard mention of a special job being offered to the person who wins the Tournament, I cant wait to see what it is! Whatever it is, I'll be asking to return for the last week of Heaven or Hell. I cant wait to see everyone again, even if I cant let them see me!

Goodnight! I'm fleebing tired!
