Review Log
This will contain mostly reviews. I will keep spoilers to a minimum where possible, but I can't guarantee spoiler free.
It occurred to me recently that advertisements are not aimed at me. Not even a little. After all, food commercials are exclusively aimed at carnivores and/or people who like junk food. The brands I generally buy are not advertised. I have never bought a car and will never buy a car. Ditto most home furnishings. (I do periodically replace things like shower curtains or dead electronics, but those decisions have nothing to do with what I saw on TV.) I only use my cell phone as a phone as I have limited control of my body parts and doing complex things on a tiny key pad is right out, which leaves out the whole realm of cell phone upgrades, providers, apps, etc. out. Ditto high end jewelry. Things I do try out new, like new foods, house hold cleaner, etc., I nearly always spot on the shelves and buy word of mouth. I can't afford to travel and likely never will. i do not own a gaming consol, so gaming comercials are also irrelevant. Today when I went shopping for food, I bought three things based specifically on internet buzz, the rest was the same stuff I generally buy at the beginning of month this time of year. The only ads that have any relevance to me at all tend to be movie trailers and season premiere notices for the few shows I care about.

Advertising is mostly irrelevant, hetero normative, and reinforcing of 1950's gender stereotypes. No wonder I hate it so. I suppose this is more proof that I'm a terrible American: advertisers don't even want me.
