In the year 2186 the earth began it’s demise, the human species had drained the planet of all of it’s resources, and the top scientists had given the world only three years before it would crumble and become unstable to even survive on. Those three years hadn’t been a complete waste. The smartest minds had built a large shuttle that would take up what resources the earth had left and fly those who could afford it up into space until a new planet could be found that would be suitable for them to live and thrive on.
The seats started at one million.
Surprisingly it was filled at five hundred thousand people, taking off into the sky just months before the earth would stop it’s rotation and crumble under it’s own weight. Those thousands of people watched from the stars as their own home cracked and imploded upon itself.
For years the men and women had lived in the large space ship, and after so long, they had accepted it as their home. After another hundred years or so they had completely forgotten about the mission to find another planet to live on, simply adapting to the large machine.
That is until they found the planet of Noxis.
The planet’s atmosphere was almost a perfect match to that of earth’s, it was lavish with trees and fresh water, as if the planet had never been touched before. Upon arriving soldiers exited their ships, guns in their hands, heavy boots crushing the blades of grass. “Seems stable…” one had stated, looking around from the small window in the helmet he wore. The sound of an animal echoed, all three looking up at the strange creature that stood in a tree, scratching behind it’s ear, giving another cry before large wings spread and it took off into the air. “Really freaky though…”
One had reached up, grabbing the hose that stuck out from the back of his helmet, pulling it free as it let out a hiss of air. Grabbing either side of the large helmet he pulled, gasping, taking in a deep breath of the unknown air. He hesitated, soon letting it out before taking another, “it’s breathable…” he stated, the other two soon following in suit. One lifted a hand to his ear, soon speaking, “the planet seems lifeless except for some animals, the air is breathable, the earth is fertile, I think we found it.. I think we found our new home..”
He then stopped, a sharp sudden movement to the right causing all eyes to turn, watching the branch that waved slowly as if something had just jumped from it. “What was that?” “Mason, what is going on?” The three shifted, holding their guns, stepping towards the trees. Four more pairs of eyes opened, staring at the men, who in turn jumped back, weapons lifted and aimed at the figures. The creatures had then stepped from the bushes, four men, seemingly the same height as the three that aimed at them, skin a pale pasty green with orange markings like that of a tiger. Under the flesh it seemed that the veins were higher up, protruding through the skin, making them perfectly visible, large horns curling from their head. Bodies were clothed in strips of what looked like leather, metal rings and chains hanging from them.
Holding a spear one stepped forward.
“Ginget… mikro mo tunor noi?”
The words were strange, unknown by the men who lowered their guns seeing no threat. One stepped closer, holding a hand to his chest. “We come in peace..” he stated, “we’ve just come to ask to home our people on your planet.” The strange creature looked confused, staring over at the others behind him before speaking again. “mikro mo tunor noi?” One man looked to the other, “he doesn’t understand…” He had given a heavy sigh before holding a hand to his ear again, “sir, it seems like the planet is inhabited by a intelligent species, they don’t understand our words, but I’m sure that we can do something about this.”
With the word of approval the large ship had landed, the thousands of people exiting to see what they hoped would be their new home, yet just as they had, more of the strange creatures had surrounded to see what was going on, females with smaller horns, smaller ones that seemed to be children, men with weapons that stared with uncertainty. The commander of the ship stepped forward, “I am captain Mark Davis, we’ve traveled for many years for a planet that would be livable for our people, and this is what seems to be the only one so far. We come in peace to ask for a chance to live here with you, to live off your land and in turn show you our technology.”
A taller man stepped forward, the horns longer, thicker, curled around his ears. By the long white robes it was obvious he was a man of importance, lifting his hands, “I am King Derou… we have been receiving signals of your kind for some time now, we’ve learned your language, but we have also learned of your planet, of what you had done to it. We wish not to risk our planet falling for what your’s has.. Leave now. We are sorry but we wish there was a better way…”
The human leader sighed, shaking his head before replacing the hat upon his head, the humans behind him gasping and beginning to yell at each other in fear and worry. “I’m sorry to hear that,” the commander stated, “but we aren’t willing to let something like this slip through our fingers.” Snapping his fingers a soldier lifted his gun, firing a red beam, the leader of the strange aliens gasping. Dark blue blood trickled down his nose and chin, dripping to the ground, his body soon crumbling.
“Kratuo!”
A female pushed through the crowd of the creatures, falling to the side of the man, the blue staining the white gown she wore. Her fingers shook as they hovered above the limp man, eyes watering, the water rolling down the green cheeks as she stared at the man. “Nato gi frig! Nato gi frig!” Her eyes narrowed, “Frigu moi Kratuo!” she shouted. A man stood beside the commander, “must be the leader’s daughter..” The man nodded, “then she holds the power now.. Grab her, finish off the people..” With that order the soldiers had fired into the croed, a few more making grabs for the female that scrambled to her feet, running from the scene with the rest of the aliens and back into the forest.
It was rare to see the creatures from then on, and after weeks of searching and finding nothing, the humans began setting up their new home, starting in a large city where they tore much of the forest down to make. For years they had continued searching for the strange creatures and the female that now led them, making rules for the humans to follow. If you see a alien, report it immediately. If you are seen helping such a creature you will be sentenced to imprisonment or even death. The reward for finding the princess was higher than any man could ask for.
Years later the aliens had found it safe to hide less and less, the princess had learned to fight, wearing the leather clothing of her own people, helping them to live in their hiding. Early in the morning she had awaken, taking the large gun that one of her people had stolen from the humans and perfected, learning it’s technology and recreating it. This she took with her as she left the village they had made in the trees, starting early on the studying of the humans, watching their lives, learning their weaknesses. Hiding in the bushes her dark green eyes watched the soldiers as they relaxed and spoke with one another, unknowing of the figure behind her before the weapon was kicked away and an arm slid around her neck, pulling her hard into the chest of the figure behind her as she began to struggle.
