~*~ She is the reincarnation of Persephone, the Goddess of Spring and Reincarnation, Queen the Underworld, and wife of Hades. During the time that they had to all stay in an orphanage and picking lots, she looked, acted and was raised like a boy. Her mother raised her to be a boy since she believed that having a boy was less stressful on her life.
Kohaku, or Kyoko or Kyo, can really relate to Hyoga when it comes to their mothers since her mother died drowning as well. The last thing she has from her mother is an Egyptian necklace that she always wears around her neck. Before Hyoga and Kohaku left to go to different parts of the world again, she made a friendship bracelet for the both of them and told him not to loose or break it so they could remember each other when they meet again. The main reason why she gave and made him that friendship bracelet was because she had a crush on him since he was the only person that she actually trusted. And when he was about to go draw his lot for training, the last thing he had said to her was that “if you were a girl, you’d be really cute” without knowing that he made her blush about that comment. During her training with her teacher, Scorpio Milo, she had received a scar on her left shoulder and to cover that up, she got a navy blue star to cover it and since she was already doing so, she also got a small tattoo of the symbol for scorpio behind her right ear.
Later, when they returned to Japan for the tournament, Kohaku was found out that she was actually a girl during her match when her opponent brushed his fist across her chest, her yelling out that he was a pervert and, although she meant to punch him, her hand opened at the last second and sent him flying across the ring from being slapped. Although it was against the rules for a female saint to not wear a mask, Saori allowed Kohaku to keep her status like the boys since of how she fought her way to equality and training even harder then the others. Unfortunately, because of her case, the other saints normally were drawn towards her when ever she actually seemed feminine at times. When Ikki was stealing the gold cloth, Kohaku tried to stop him, only to be captured and treated in somewhat perverted ways when she was held against her will by the Saint of Phoenix.
She was one of the people that constantly caused Tokumaru, Saori’s butler, trouble when she lived in the orphanage and after everyone came back, she still causes him trouble. At first, her love interest is Cygnus Hyoga but later switches to Andromeda Shun after she sees Hyoga more as a big brother instead of a guy that she likes more then a friend, which broke his heart and forced him into denial. She is also the younger sister of Silver Saint, Cepheus Daedalus. . . .
