Bio: Minami was an unhappy child, he grew up as 10th in a family of 16. He was always sickly so he would stay inside reading and studying while the rest of his family worked and went to school. He was a smart young man who would have had chances to attend some of the best schools in Japan had it not been for the wasting illness he was never treated for due to the financial burden of 16 children. Though out of the 16 children he was the only one who was born with the strange illness of his body.
At the age of 15 he was accepted to a private school he was however unable to attend due to money and his illness. He spent most of his teen years in bed. Due to this oddness of always being close to death Minami had a sort of spiritual awareness as evidenced by seeing Hell Butterflies every so often.
He was 22, when heading home from the library his heart gave out. There were attempts to bring him back to life but with the technology of the day it was not possible. As his lonely soul wandered around his familial home and town he was greeted one day by a man with white hair and a kitsune likened face. They spoke at a length about Minami’s life and the man spoke of a world where he would be treated as an equal among others. As Minami drifted off to a world of his own the man sent his spirit off to the next world.
Learning later that man’s name, the two became sort of friends though they were sometimes off arguing with each other before the work of his friend's squad kept him busy under his captains rules. It took Minami a great many years to enter and complete the Shinigami academy, but with his knowledge and will he completed it ahead of his class. After learning of the captain and his somewhat friends betrayal, Minami was asked to step in as captain of the squad.
Why are you walking this path: To prove to himself that he is not a useless person as his parents said he was and to make a difference in the after life.
Personality: He has a kind, if not lonely personality. Instead of socializing with other Shinigami he would toss himself into his work until he is found sleeping in his books.
Other: He is sometimes called Mimi or Nami by his squad. His illness is sometimes kept in check by entering a Gigai body.

Shikai Appearance: Taking the form of two large slightly curved kunai knives, formed of a black metal and attached to each other by a red cord with a design like a bunch of connecting kites.
Shikai Power: The ability Unmei no Umi possesses is pulled off by utilizing the water vapor in the air to create blades of water, which can two various things. With the left blade the water can be absorbed and then turned into a lengthened blade making the small kunai a more effective melee weapon while the right kunai is able to absorb the water and then release it in large blades of water that fire across the sky(looking akin to a shark's fin above water) to create a powerful double team of melee and ranged combat. While the kunai are the basis for using the water to attack the kite-like cord is-in which the water is absorbed and distributed and depending on it's user the left can be amplified in power while the right is weakened or vice-versa and can even be divided equally within the two for whatever effects is required.

Bankai Appearance: When Unmei no Umi enters it's Bankai state, it begins with the user dropping the Zanpaku-to (whether it be Shikai or Sealed state), once the Zanpaku-to's blade touches the ground it liquifys in a small puddle which rapidly grows in length, forming a thin puddle. Under the puddle a massive marking appears which glows in a bright white colour, eventually creating a sealed dimension of space around the puddle This large new dimension then begins to sink to lower ground and eventually fill up with water creating in a sense a small ocean - which the user has entire control of - by way of a newly created Zanpaku-to made entirely out of water.
Bankai Power: The ability to form large towers of water, raging waves or do whatever they like, while there opponent is left to fend off all attacks while trying to figure a way to get outside of the dimension.
