Beware of the fangirl...The diary of a Gaian.
This is the diary of Dawna Celeste, just another ordinary Gaian...or is she?
This is the diary of Dawna Celeste...
I don't even really know why I'm writing this, but perhaps someone might read it sometime in the future and be interested, so...
First of all, about me. My name is Dawna Celeste, I'm 15, and I'm just your avrage Gaian. I live in Durem at the moment, in a little flat on the top floor of a tower, somewhat too close to the clock tower for my liking, but that's life... I'm not from Durem, my family came from Aekea, but that part of my life is over and done with. You know, Aekea isn't the safest place in Gaia, with all those machines and building going on... I lived a pretty good life there with my family, untill one frosty evening just after New Years. I was on my way back from programming class when I heard a huge crash and the ground shook under my feet. Part of a huge crane had collapsed, and as I ran toward the site of the disaster, I saw that the huge pice of machinery it had been holding had landed on my house, crushing it and all inside it. I searched through the rubble all night, but nothing, and nobody, had survived. I was alone in the world, homeless, without a family...but not friendless! As the sun rose, a tiny black mop of fur crawled out of a deserted building. It was a kitten. She crawled to my feet, meowing, and I picked her up and petted her. We were so alike, both alone, I thought as tears rolled down my cheeks... The kitten had stoped crying by now, and she looked up at me with eyes the same color as my own. She jumped down and scampered off to the building she had come from, moving very fast for a kitten that young. I ran after her, but she had already slipped through a gap between two planks. A few moments later she reapeared, dragging behind her something that was bigger then her. I scooped up her and the object...it was a bag. I opened it and it was full of...gold! "How?" I asked the kitten. Her only answer was a purr, but she raised one paw and pointed it west. I looked around at Aekea, at the ruins of my home, at the kitten, and finally at the bag of gold. Again the the kitten pointed west, and this time made her meaning clear with a loud "Mew!" I wasn't going to dispute with the cat who had given me gold... So I said goodbye to my old life, and headed west with the kitten in my arms.
We kept going west, to Barton Town, where I got a job as a computer maintenence girl at the Gaia 9 news station, but rents were high, and the kitten, now named Lady Luck, wanted to go further. So one day, we headed west once more... We arived in Durem on a day that will be remembered as a day of infamy. It was the day that the Sniper returned... I was swept up in the crowd waiting to meet Ian as he left the courthouse, and Lady Luck climbed on my head to get a better view. "Isn't he handsome?" a girl next to me wispered as Ian came down the steps. She was right, very right. I began to plan a way to get close enough to talk to him, when the clock struck noon, and all plans were put on hold by a shot. Lady Luck dug her claws painfully into my head, Ian went flying backwards with blood splattered on his shirt, people started screaming, and someone shoved me backwards, blocking my view of the steps. I tried to push forward, but was shoved back again, this time hard enough to push me into the person behind me and almost knock us both over. As I tried to keep on my feet, Lady Luck jumped off my head and strolled calmly off through the surging crowd. I chased after her, but I couldn't seem to catch up untill she stopped outside a tower with a "Flat for rent, inquire inside" sign hanging from a top-floor window. As I picked her up, she pointed at the sign with one paw and said "Mew!" I knew what she meant, but I couldn't belive she thought now was a good time to look at a flat! "Now?" I asked, and she replied with an even louder "Mew!" So, with a sigh and a backwards glance, I went inside and climbed the stairs to the top floor.
Once more, Lady Luck was right. The old lady inside was only too happy to have someone rent the flat, and was moving out that day, so me and Lady Luck were able to move in that night. We've lived a pretty good life here so far, although it is a pain having to jog all the way to Barton Town every time I get a phone call from Gaia 9 telling me to come fix their computers... I guess the exercixe is good for me though.
The only thing that worries me is that I don't know how Ian is. As far as I know, he's still in the hospital, but I haven't heard anything much about him since Valentine's Day. I sent him a bunch of flowers, I hope he got them...
Uh oh, I just got a call from Gaia 9. It sounds like Cindy Donovinh's laptop isn't working... Great, I have to go all that way now! Oh well, I'd like to meet Cindy... She's cool! Gotta go!
