I am starting Kendo and Akido. I met with sensei yesterday, I am very excited to start on Saturday. For those of you that dont know what Kendo and Akido are, I shall now explain to you...
Kendo is the ever-respected art of the samurai. It is of the sword and hand, and all that other stuff. In Kendo, you train with wooden sword, then shiken, then boken. These are wood, to bamboo, to blade. The boken is the ending of the Kendo part, and beginning of the Waza trianing. This is where you lean Kata (formations and stances) in your dojo and do things with your katana. I dont need to explain what a katana is do I?? Anyhow, this is the fine art of the samurai. Akido is for when you drop your sword or when it gets knocked out... unlikely, but Akido will be useful to me for when someone wants ot kick me a**. Its not like they could do it now, but Akido will help.

I also got HAKAMA!! Its the 'flaring' pants that samurai wear. They are the really, really, really, baggy pants with the five pleats in frot and all black! I love love love them. heart I will try to get a pic of me wearing my full samurai uniform up tomorrow. Dont know though, here is a pic of a hakama and uwagi (top part - shirt) :::
My shirt is traditional samurai like though. Uwagi, it is called, mine is blue... not like his, okay?! If you have ever seen Samurai Champloo *bows in great awe of the great anime* you will know my outfit as Jin's. I am cosplaying as hin, if you didnt know... and all I have to do is sew the little 2 dimensional (<-spelling?) diamons onto the uwagi... other than that... I dont know how I can make the swords look realistic.
