Peter Pan: After having sex with Hatter several (many lol) times, Alice goes to Dinah afraid that their protection may have failed and she's pregnant. Margaret gets her a pregnancy test even though Alice is only one date late and that's not really proof of anything, and then waits outside the bathroom as she takes it. But Alice's parents come home unexpectedly and see Dinah just hanging around the bathroom. She tries to cover it, but Alice, who doesn't know they're there, calls out "Dinah, I'm too afraid to take the test... Come in here with me." and of course her parents FREAK OUT. Her father would throw Dinah out, accusing her of helping Alice and Hatter meet, then he'd probably drag Alice all the way to Hatter's apartment, bang on the door, then push her forward and go "Tell him! Now!" and Alice, in tears, would just go "I... I..." but she can't get it out, and then her father breaks in and goes "You got her pregnant, you sorry son of a b***h! You've ruined my daughter's life! You've ruined our FAMILY'S lives!" and that's as far as I got in my head >_> 10:18 PM

Bridget: Okay, just making sure. Hatter would of course catch Alice when she's pushed at him and hold her tightly to him, rubbing her arms and generally making sure she's alright. And when he hears the word pregnant everything else her dad says, his entire presence would become a blur. "Alice, are you...-his expression slowly growing happier little by little- Are you really pregnant?" 10:22 PM
Peter Pan: She'd take a deep breath and go "I didn't get to take the test, he stopped me before I could... I'm sorry, I'm so sorry..." 10:23 PM
Bridget: "Alice, love, stop apologizing." He'd hug her and kiss the side of her head. "This is beautiful! Do you really think you're pregnant? Can you feel it?" 10:28 PM
Peter Pan: "I don't know, I don't know! Hatter, its not a good thing here... They have names for girls like me--" with her father breaking in and shouting "A slut!" Which of course will make Alice convulse as if he physically hit her. The way it was in my head, the possibility of a pregnancy and then her finding out she's not brings her, her sister, and their mother closer together and her mother starts to be more accepting towards Hatter, seeing the way he loves Alice rather than just all the bad things about him. But it isolates her father, who has to let go of her as his youngest and his favorite and trust her not to another man, but to herself. So him calling her a slut is the start of that whole thing. 10:30 PM
Bridget: Hatter would hold her tighter, taking her to the sofa so she can sit down. "Hey, hey, it's alright. Nothing like that is going to happen. I promise. If you are pregnant, then we can just marry now instead of waiting. No one can say anything bad if you're married, right?" (way I see it, Hatter has asked her to marry him several times before, brought it up just like it's inevitable so when's it gonna happen type thing. And she's told him once she finishes school and is out of her parents house they can marry lol Or...would she not say that?) 10:35 PM
Peter Pan: (No, she'd say that =) Its perfect for her actually.... Alice is afraid of becoming an adult. Afraid of having to leave behind half of who she is - everything that is Wonderland, basically, which is also everything that our world identifies with childhood. So it takes her a while to decide to sleep with Hatter, because sex is a VERY grown-up thing that she had, before this, never seen herself doing, and then the idea of marrying is terrifying and being a mother absolutely petrifying. So yes, Alice would stall on getting married the same as she used to stall on having sex with him lol) She'd shake her head at him and start to cry again "I'm afraid... I'm so afraid, Hatter..." 10:38 PM
Bridget: He'd hold her head to his chest and let her cry, rocking her and petting her hair and whispering "Shhh, I'm here. Don't be afraid. I'll take care of you, I promise." and just repeating that over and over again, resting his head against hers and obviously very disturbed at how upset she is. What would her parents be doing? Obviously not just standing at the door like bumps on a log. xP I was thinking, based on what you said, maybe this could be a good example of her mom seeing how much he really cares about her. 10:41 PM
Peter Pan: Yes, I was thinking the same thing. Her mother would stand there with her arms folded, watching Hatter and Alice interact, then looking at her husband who is literally going purple from his rage, and then she'd sigh, touch her husband's arm almost apologetically, then walk forward and stand over them until Hatter looked up at her. "Let her take the test first... and then you can start talking about marriage. Alice has always wanted to finish university before marriage... A baby might change that, but we're not sure of anything right now so... -trails off awkwardly- " 10:44 PM

Peter Pan: Her mother would take the unused test from her bag and hand it to her daughter, then walk her back in the apartment to the bathroom and go in the room with her to take it. Leaving Hatter alone with.... DUN DUN DUNNNN.... her father =O 10:46 PM
Bridget.: Then he'd look down at Alice. "Do you want to take the test now? Should I call Dinah or one of the others? Or maybe your mom could help you....?" 10:46 PM

Peter Pan: It's okay =) her mom would still do the same thing. Take matters into her own hands, being Alice's mother rather than her warden or her prison guard, you know? 10:47 PM
Bridget.: Yes. So they go into Hatter's bathroom to take the test and Hatter stands there staring at the door with this really worried face. Not because he's worried about the outcome, but because he's worried about how the outcome will affect Alice, since all he wants for her is to see her happy. But after a few seconds he'd turn on the father I think. "You look thirsty." (tehehe) 10:49 PM
Peter Pan: The man would give him this snarling look and go "Why don't you go get a drink for yourself, hm? In the river, perhaps? I doubt anyone would miss you." 10:50 PM
Bridget.: Hatter would chuckle. "Clever one, you. Always with the jokes." He'd gesture for the father to come in, the close the door so that they can continue this little family matter privately. "Listen, though. -his voice going from light to threatening in an instant. he doesn't care how powerful this guy is- I don't care who you are to Alice, you have no right to treat her the way you did. She was upset enough, and you only made it worse calling her names and shoving her around. No woman should be treated that way. Especially not my woman and especially not by her own family. Her own father, for crying out loud. You're so worried about your precious reputation. Take a look at your family. Which is more important, hm? You make a living creating peace between countries, nations, and you can't keep from causing it in your own home. You're a dirty hypocrite, no better than the Red Queen herself, and I'll be damned if I let you hurt another hair on Alice's head. Like it or not, she's mine and it's my job to protect her, even if it is from her own father." He'd be standing in the kitchenette then and would hold up a kettle from the stove top, totally switching again to light. "Tea?" 10:56 PM
Peter Pan: Her father would glare at him the entire time, then ignore the question about tea and just go "... Red... Red Queen? Who in God's name ARE you? Where are you from? I don't know anything about you - and believe me, I've had people looking for information about you for weeks. But you don't exist on any records until just about the time of Alice's accident. -steps closer to him, not threateningly, but challengingly- You want me to trust you with MY daughter when it's clear you can't be trusted at all?" 11:00 PM
Bridget.: "If you know nothing about me how can you know whether or not I can be trusted? It seemed very clear to me that nothing is clear to you, at all." he'd take a drink of his own tea. "But, the important thing here is not if you trust me. It's whether or not Alice trusts me. As I understand it, she's old enough now to make those choices on her own. So the question is not can I be trusted, but why aren't you trusting her?" 11:03 PM
Peter Pan: "Because she's a child! She's an innocent, she always has been! She was never like her sister... Margaret has been responsible and reasonable and mature since she was a baby, but Alice--! ... Alice was always different. She needs protection, from people who are going to use her and corrupt her just like you!" 11:05 PM
Bridget.: (Way I see it. Hatter has learned a LOT about people while working in his casino thingy. lol So he's become...wise, you could say. ^_^ ) Hatter would smile. "You really should have some. You'll feel much more relaxed. -another sip, then when he sets it down he'd look up with a dark look- Alice is the bravest, strongest, most brilliant woman I've ever had the privilege to meet. When facing death she didn't even think twice before choosing what she knew was right, even if it was more dangerous. She has a heart so pure, even the White Knight looks gray in comparison. And she has a strength of moral character like I've never seen. If anyone stood a chance of corrupting her in any way, it would be you, the only influence she's ever allowed over her own life. The one who's been stifling her brilliance her entire life. You are the one who's hurting her, keeping her from growing up. You're the one who's caging the beautiful bird she could be. I have done nothing to her but allow her to be herself, and at every turn you shut her down. You're killing her spirit, and I fear to imagine what she may turn into if she's not rescued from that hell of a place you call her home." 11:12 PM
Peter Pan: Her father would knock Hatters cup to the floor in anger. "How dare you? You trash! You have no idea what you're talking about! My daughter has never faced death, she's never met any White Knight, and if you call OUR home a hell, then I fear to imagine what any home YOU could give her would be like. -voice going softer and more contemplative, less accusatory- She's safe the way I keep her. She can't be hurt. You love how pure she is? How moral? Then stay out of my way, and let me keep her like that. Intact, and untouched." 11:18 PM

Peter Pan: Her father would throw his hands in the air and turn away from him "There's no talking to you, you bloody madman!!!" 11:26 PM
Bridget.: I think maybe at this point Alice and her mother have had sufficient time to take the test? lol Hatter would pick up his cup. "When did you ever start trying?" and pour himself another glass. 11:28 PM
Peter Pan: Yes, and now they're waiting for the results. Once they get them they'd need another minute or two for Alice to compose herself. Her father would snap back around with this incredulous look and then just go "... What?!" like absolutely confounded lol 11:29 PM
Bridget.: "Do you realize you've never once said a decent word to me? From the day I met you at the hospital you've done nothing but distrust me. Your daughter put her life in my hands more than once. Do you even care enough to say one hello to the man she trust and cares for so deeply? It surprises me your government still keeps you employed, if you ask me. -another sip- You can't say a decent word to those closer to you, how can you manage to keep the peace for people you've never laid eyes on? Really, I don't understand it at all." 11:32 PM
Peter Pan: "Perhaps if you stopped insulting me and every time I saw you wasn't when you had your tongue down her throat, I'd be more inclined to be polite!" 11:34 PM
Bridget.: "Perhaps I'd be less inclined to insult you if I didn't feel the need to defend myself at every turn. You're quite the threatening fellow." 11:35 PM
Peter Pan: "Have you looked in a mirror?" 11:36 PM
Bridget.: "Me? -glances in a reflective surface, probably on the kettle- Yes, I am quite dashing, aren't I?" 11:37 PM
Peter Pan: lol Why yes, yes he is! <3333333333 Her father would glare, wanting to yell at him, but then he'd hear the bathroom door open and he'd just take a deep breath before going "She's coming." 11:39 PM
Bridget.: I know right??? <3333333 I started watching that dinosaur show on BBC JUST for him. <33333333 lol Hatter would perk up. "How exciting. I might be a father!" then wait for her to come in. As soon as he sees Alice he'd take a few steps towards her, wanting to meet her in the middle, as it were. He'd hold his arms out welcomingly, so she knows she can go to him if she wants, but at the same time he doesn't want to push her right now, considering everything that's going on and everyone here. Peter Pan: She'd go into them, clinging to him as if her life depends on it, and then her mother would be the one who answers. "Negative. There's no baby." Obviously she's happy about it, but she's also watching her husband, who is now a queer sort of grayish color in his face. Then he just nods curtly. 11:43 PM
Bridget.: Hatter would look obviously disappointed, but he'd look down at Alice, clinging to her as tightly as she is to him. "This is...what you want for now, right?" 11:45 PM
Peter Pan: She'd take a deep breath and sigh, then nod into his chest. "For...now..." 11:46 PM
Bridget.: "Then this is good." He'd kiss the top of her head and rub her back and arms. "As long as your happy, this is good." 11:48 PM
Peter Pan: She'd look up at him and go "What did you want? Don't tell me whatever I want, what did YOU want?" but her father would cut in and make for the door. "Alice, come. It's late, we're going to home. And you should...probably call Dinah. We were a bit...rough with her and... -glances briefly at Hatter- I should apologize." 11:49 PM
Bridget.: Hatter would ignore her father and look down into her eyes. "You can stay here tonight, if you want. Relax a bit. Pocaho...em...Rebecca is cooking a big meal for everyone. A birthday I think. They'd all love to see you." 11:52 PM
Peter Pan: Her father would break in again "She needs to be at home tonight, thank you. Alice, come--" Her mother would cut him off with a hand on his arm and a look, then she'd step forward and adress Hatter directly. "She really does need to be with her family tonight, I think... But... Tomorrow, if you like... You may come see her..." "Karen!!" "You may come see her, Hatter... Tomorrow." 11:55 PM
Bridget.: Hatter would tense, not wanting to take orders from them. But then he'd look down at Alice, brace himself, and for her sake he'd nod. He'd cup her face in his hands and whisper "I love you, my beautiful Alice." (nothing to spite her father or that has anything to do with anyone else. It's all just the two of them in that moment. lol) 11:57 PM
Peter Pan: She'd smile up at him and whisper back "I love you" before kissing him, with her parents watching awkwardly and her mother giving her father silencing looks lol 11:58 PM

Bridget.: Poor Hatter, I can just see him sadly watching her leave, then Genie popping out of no where "Quite the speech. You know the entire building could hear you right? And honestly, none of us thought you had it in you." and Hatter just smiling back and holding up his tea cup. "A little drop of confidence never hurts." ;P lol And yes, WLW and DTL... Hmmm....
