Beware of the fangirl...The diary of a Gaian.
This is the diary of Dawna Celeste, just another ordinary Gaian...or is she?
I'll have to wait...
Well, here I am, somewhere near Barton Cliffs... I got this far last night, but it didn't seem very safe to go too close to the Cliffs untill morning. I'm too excited to sleep, so I made a small fire from some bits of wood I found laying around, and I'm writing by firelight. I'm going to have to wait for the sun to rise before I can get a good look at the damage, but I can see the outline of a crater by moonlight... I promised Yama I'd wait for him anyway...wait, I'm getting ahead of my story!
I left Durem on Tuesday, having got Rufus in Barton to kittysit Lady Luck. He was very happy to do so, and asked me to try to find Ian for him when I got the the Cliffs. However, as I was taking Lady Luck (very grumpy at being woken early) to Barton, I was waylaid by a crazed-looking woman, who was handing out hastily-printed leaflets and shouting that the end of the world was coming. I tried to avoid her, but she blocked my path and began pulling my hair while explaining how the return of Johnny Gambino meant that Gaia would be destroyed. And then...
"Indeed milady, tis it so serious as all that?" I spun at the voice, and saw the catlike knight standing next to me. The woman opened her mouth to protest, but the knight had already taken my arm and was leading me out of Durem. He insisted on walking to Barton with me, and we talked as we walked. He told me his name was Yama Neko, and that he mostly lived in the mountains north of Durem. When I told him about the camping trip I was going on, he asked if we could meet at the Cliffs... I had been rather worried about exploring the Cliffs on my own, so I agreed at once.
I packed the bare minimum of what I'd need: No tent, just a sleeping bag, a small camping stove and a lighter (much more dependable then matchs), a flashlight, a change of clothes and a bar of soap, a lot of tinned food and bottled water, and tea. You always need tea! Oh yes, and this diary and a pen, of course!
So now I'm sitting on my sleeping bag, drinking tea and writing, rubbing my sore feet (wooden sandals and too-tight socks are not good for walking in), and waiting for sleep, dawn, or Yama, whatever comes first.
