Long ago, the word was only a rock all pocked and scarred, dry and brown but it was alone and so it was content. But one day, the sky was born and it surrounded the earth in it's beauty and the earth saw all her blue hues as she shared her breath upon it's face and looked at itself and became envious. The earth told the sky "You are so bright and I am so dull that I weep at the difference." The sky felt sorrow for the earth and blew upon it's surface once more, turning dust into seeds as she scattered them across it's face. They grew into luscious green plants all across the earth and after using her for it's own gain, the earth turned away from the sky. And the sky wept. She wept so much that her tears became the sea. The earth choked and and sputtered from the water as it quaked, tearing itself asunder as a blinding light shot up from it and past the sky. And so became the sun. The sun was the earth's heart and it eventually became lonely. The earth felt this and the earth pleaded to the sky to help it. So she went to the sun and told him "Fall into my tears and you shall have a bride." And so the sun did this unquestioningly, plunging itself into the ocean. Steam rose from him as he made the sea bubble with heat until an orb formed from that mist high above the others. And so became the moon. The sun rejoiced and came to her. They loved that day and made the stars. But the moon being made of mist, forgot everything the next day and she was afraid. She ran away from the sun while he was asleep and when he woke up he found her to be gone. Overcome with yearning, he chased after her, forever in a circle around the earth. And sometimes, he would catch her and she would remember only to forget the next day. On these days he would enfold the earth in darkness as he took pleasure in her company.
As the years passed they forgot their names and became still as you see them today. Only the oldest of animals still remember their names and once in a time, you can hear the animals call out to them. Those to have found their names and call them out are said to be granted their power.
