1. Let’s start by introducing your character! Their name, birthday, ethnicity, and position in Temperance sounds like a good way to begin.
Ana: *ahem* My name is Annabel Wisteria, but many simply call me Ana. My birthday is on June 4th, 7073, so that makes me... *thinks and counts* 27, yeah? I'm of German descent, but born and raised in Spain so I speak Spanish fluently and German not so much. I hold Guardianship in Temperance, but I'm much more involved with raising the young sparks - after all, we need people to teach them.
2. Why did you pick their name? Did it influence their character design at all?
Bao: Actually yes, Ana's name did have an influence on her character design. Annabel (a variant form of Annabelle) means "lovable" in Latin and hopefully she's a likable character for everyone. Her last name "Wisteria" is obviously after the wisteria flower plant. She has a tendency to be minute and unimportant at first, but given some time she can grow to be a real hassle, at least in some matters. She's resilient and hardy, so she adapts to most situations well. I had to research her name a bit before coming to that.
3. Your character got their position for a reason. Why did they choose their occupation (or why were they forced into it?)
Ana: In the beginning, I didn't want to be sitting around in a classroom at the campus and went with being a Guardian to employ my abilities. It's fun watching the Shadows get so frustrated with me kicking their asses all the time.
Bao: Actually, I wanted to try out a character as a Guardian. Plus I need someone who won't be swayed by corruption but her past is rather complicated. Oops, I think I said too much now. mad
4. That’s cool, I think. Okay, okay! So let’s talk about specialties. As the creator you gave your character some specialties and areas they struggle in. What are these areas and why did you pick them for your character?
Bao: If we were to peer into Ana's past at Temperance, her two main skills would be Operations and Spells since she would love to fight the Shadows and protect her beloved city. She was often weak with technology but that's because she grew up without it in her household (or at least anything "modern" wink . She has no idea how to summon nor does she want to because she tends to rely on her own strength. However because technology is advancing she's making herself learn how to use DVs so she won't be hindered.
5. Everyone should have a spell that’s specific to them! Talk about or make up a spell your character would use as their ‘signature’. Describe this kick-a** spell!
Bao: Ana's signature finishing spell and/or move is "Huracan Grande" which is Spanish for Grand Hurricane. It has more of a twister appearance though and to form it, Ana has to make a high jump and start off spinning with her toes pointed downward while casting the spell. It then forms a cyclone and acts like a drill, piercing right into the enemy from above. There is a weakness to it though and that's if Ana's stops spinning at any given moment. No spin, no cyclone.
6. Now, does your character specialize in offensive, defensive, strategic (traps, energy zappers, etc) or healing spells?
Bao: Offensive and defensive skills. Although she'll be willing to dive in and fight, she knows when the situation needs to be considered for her strengths and weaknesses. In the case where the Shadow (or enemy) is weaker, she takes more to offensive fighting but if the enemy is stronger, defenses play a bigger role. After all, she doesn't want to embarrass herself as a Guardian and be knocked out in such a manner.
7. On that vein, describe your character’s elemental alignment. (And it doesn’t have to be specific like air, earth, fire, etc. There are specific elements like “northern sky” or “ocean waters” or “swamp” if you’re inclined. Be creative. :3).
Bao: The element in which Ana aligns herself with is "Holy Skies", which is actually her current alignment and not her previous one. It came as a result of the missing four years and she has not and probably never will be able to stamp it out of her system. The air she summons is different than that of a normal air user - the air is notably immaculate and has traces of holy water in mist form. It is believed that this element is a resemblance to where Heaven is, being composed of clouds with God's blessing. With this, it makes it terribly difficult to slice through or dispel by any evil or demonic means and for those affiliated with the darkness, it can have quite an impact.
8. As their graduation present, your OC receives a BRAND NEW dual vehicle and it’s the DV of their dreams. Name it, categorize it (bike, car, tank, flyer, watercraft, aircraft, etc), and describe it.
Bao: This is actually a very good question, considering I haven't gone as far as think about what type of vehicle would suit Ana. I could imagine her in an open fighter jet (like the ones in Tron) or getting around on a sky board (like a hover board except it has a rocket propulsion capability and Spark locks to keep her feet on it). Or both.
9. AND the DV is in their favorite colors. What’s their favorite color?
Bao: For either one, white with solid gold or black cross strips and a black or white pointed cross in the center of each, respectively.
10. Your character is in a jam! They summon their beast! What is the beast’s name? Write a detailed description of them and their personality. (If your character does not have a common summon, explain why that is).
Bao: Ana doesn't have a common summon yet since she never learned how to summon. But if she did have a common summon, it would be a large eagle with blue glowing symbols on its back, an Aqk. This species descend from Aqk Aen'och, the graceful eagle goddess of the wind and one of the three Beast-Gods. Her affinity with peace and her fierce desire to protect her loved ones passed down to her descendants who share the same qualities as her. And as such, it reflects Ana's fighting style, but that's not until she learns how to summon.
11. By pure luck you’ve impressed Freya, who opens up her weapon room to your character. They are allowed to take ONE weapon from this room. What weapon did they choose and why?
Bao: Ana's choice weapon would be a claymore, but as for why I can't tell since it would reveal a bit too much of her past.
12. Okay, so what is their greatest asset? Speed, strength, accuracy, high pain tolerance, strategy, evasion, reflexes, offensive, and/or defensive?
Bao: Pain tolerance and offense are her main points when it comes to combat. She'd decent in all of the other assets but utterly fails with strategy.
13. Hacking skills are pretty useful but often overlooked. How does your OC feel about hacking?
Ana: I would hate it if someone got into my files, but once it's happened, it's happened. Trying to find my data though would be difficult for any regular hacker, they'd have to be really well versed with codes to break into it.
Nami (from somewhere else): *sneezes* Did someone just talk about me? *rubs nose and shrugs it off*
14. Oh no! Your character is having a terrible nightmare! Describe it for us.
Ana: ......
Bao: That's.... a bit hard for her to get over. Her partner Eisenar was killed in a Shadow confrontation and although they weren't officially registered as partners with Temperance, they were close enough to share a stronger bond than most and just losing a part of your soul, you could imagine how Ana feels right now. She's coping with her loss, though when she's not seen, she breaks down into tears. Her nightmare is reliving that whole experience again pretty much.
15. Let’s talk about some relationships. List characters your OC has some kind of relationship with, good or bad. Exclude romantic relations.
Bao: Ana knows Leonora from her students that come from Spells and Freya from Operations. She doesn't have a whole lot of connections with the other Guardians, having been out of commission for four years. She's hoping that'll change with her return to Temperance.
16. Is your character in a partnership/have a girlfriend? If so, who are they and what is the nature of their relationship?
Bao: She's not currently in a partnership, so that answers that question.
17. If your character wasn’t/isn’t dating anyone, who do you think they’d be compatible with/attracted to and why?
Bao: Honestly, I have no idea who that would be. Ana's an experiment for me so we'll see how she holds out by the end. She does have connections to Nami so if she doesn't work out as well as I think it will, she'll just end up being a side character.
18. Alright guys. In the most delicate and tasteful way you possible can, describe your characters sexual style. Are they vanilla sweet? Do whips and chains excite them? *Fans herself* Goodness!
Bao: It really depends on her mood. She is quite sensitive when it comes to that, so it's up for whoever catches her attention to figure that out.
19. Does your character have any scars/tattoos/markings? Talk about their significance/meaning and how they got them.
Bao: Scars. Lots and lots of them. When Ana dropped out of commission the night Nami was admitted into the hospital, she was inducted into the group known as "O.T.O." and as you can guess had to undergo several painful procedures in order to convert her to the "Holy Light". They had several branches in different countries, the newest one being in Rowan but established under low-profile to avoid alerting the Guardians/Councils. And so it happened that they were able to capture, restrain, and transform Ana into one of their own. In the beginning they inflicted pain upon her and tried to force her to change. The crosses along her body are indicators of those four years she went missing. After some time though they switched tactics and were able to fully convert her to their operations instead of Rowan's. That didn't work out as well as they thought it would when one day Eisenar disappeared without a trace and Ana had gone berserk on them, nearly wiping out every single branch in existence. The only thing that remains of O.T.O. are the profiles in which they are stored in a high-maintenance, low-profile location to prevent anyone from reforming the organization again.
And yeah, I pretty much just spoiled her past. But that was found out after Nami had hacked into their systems without detection and snagged Ana's profile before slipping away.
Nami: *sneezes again* Maybe I'm just getting sick? Aw ******** it. *goes to blow nose*
20. Every character needs to wear clothes (even if they don’t want to!) why don’t you describe their style and explain why they dress the way they do!
Bao: I'm not going to recount what Ana typically wears, you can find that out by hitting the back button on this page and checking out her profile again (if you happened across this by clicking her meme link on her page). She dressed the way she does since it does show her tendency towards light and airy things. The only time she'll be out of that norm is when she dresses in a suit for Guardian meetings, which she'll start attending again.
21. Does your OC have any quirky skills unrelated to Temperance? (Balancing spoons on their nose, juggling, tap dancing, etc)
Bao: Ana can draw Temperance's mascot blindfolded.
22. It’s a perfect day outside so they decide to take a stroll. What time of year is it and what are the conditions of outdoors?
Bao: Best time for her is the spring. Ironically, it is also the most painful for her as that is when Eisenar died. However she is fond of the life that comes about during the springtime.
23. If your character could be defined as a flower, what kind of flower would they be and why?
Bao: Wisteria. Like her last name, she's like the flower. And you can go ahead and scroll back up to the first question and see why.
24. Is your character even remotely religious? What deity or god/dess do they serve? (Don’t know any? Make one up~)
Bao: Ana's polytheistic so she believes that there is more than one god. She believes in Jasmine and she believes in the Christian God though the religion demands her to believe in just him.
25. Create an acronym out of your character’s first and/or last name.
