Hopeless romantic
A BROKEN Love Story pt 2
“Oh, here’s my yearbook.” I said to myself. Everyone already signed it. Almost everyone… I sat next to Steve. (My best guyfriend). “Hey, do you know what movie we’re gonna watch?” I asked. “No, can I see your yearbook?” I handed my yearbook along with a blue sharpie. “You gonna sign it?” I asked looking over his shoulder. “sorta..” He responded, flipping through the pages. I looked around, I stared at Mrs. Chrissy. It’s too bad Mrs. Chrissy’s leaving, she was a good teacher. I thought. I spotted Nick.
He’s my ex. I felt bad about not speaking to him through the whole grade year. I felt awkward about the reason why he dumped me: for calling him too much. I never really got to know him, so I used phone calling as an option. Apparently, I called him too much and was called “annoying” by him. So, I vowed not to call any of my next boyfriends too much again.
“Emily..” I heard a voice. Mrs. Chrissy motioned me to her direction. “I need you to go across the hall, and get a movie from Mrs. Bellwoods’ class.” I nodded, “Alright.” I walked up to Steve, and grabbed my yearbook. “You’ll write in it later.” I said heading out the door. “At least so you would stop writing in it.” I mumbled. The hall looked empty, quiet and still. I looked through Mrs. Bellwoods’ window. It was dark, no one seemed to be in the room. Huh, guess Mrs. Bellwoods is out somewhere. I thought. I walked inside, and saw a moving figure to the left of the room. My eyes widened, “Triston!” He was looking for something. “Hey.” He said looked under a desk. I went behind Mrs. Bellwoods’ desk and looked through the movie cabinet. Guess the “Story of Ron Clark” wouldn’t hurt to see again. I thought. I took the movie out of the cabinet, and stared at Triston. I suddenly had a shy feeling. It felt as if I were nervous to talk to him. Triston didn’t even notice I was staring. It felt like hours until I finally said, “Uh.. Triston?” “Hmm?” He said without looking. “Can.. Can you sign my yearbook?” I smiled. He looked up at me. “Sure.” I gave him the yearbook with a sharpie. He looked confused. “Uh..” He flipped through the pages. I knew what he was thinking. “Where do I sign?” I chuckled, knowing he was going to say that. “Anywhere.” I watched him write, he looked focused. “Hey, uh.. Do you have a phone?” I felt steamed. It felt like a was in the hottest dessert in the universe. “No, but I have a house phone that I treat like a cell!” I gave a nervous laugh, I felt really stupid after saying that. He did some odd face, something that looked like he was saying “Uh...” “Well, I’ll put my number in anyways.” He signed and handed it to me. I looked at it, not really looking at it, just catching a glimpse. “Thanks.” I smiled, I felt butterflies in my stomach.
“Can I see your yearbook?” Steve asked. “No! You wrote all over the cheerleader page!” I said, holding the yearbook back. “I’m not done! I still have the little kids to draw on!” He reasoned. I gave him an “are you serious?” look. “No.” “Steve! Come here.” Mrs. Chrissy called. “You got in trouble!” I teased. “Shut up.” Steve mumbled. I continued watching the movie until Steve came back. “I’m gonna go to Mr. Gary’s class.” Steve said while grabbing his stuff. “Wait, you’re just gonna leave me? Alone?” I asked sadly. “Sorry.” He last said, then left. Great, he was the ONLY one to keep me comfortable. I thought. I looked to my left, an empty seat. I looked to my right, another empty seat. I felt lonely, it seemed everyone had someone to talk to and at least sit with..
The door opened. I quickly looked to see who it was. Triston walked in and walked over to Mrs. Chrissy. Please, please tell me he can stay! I thought hopefully. Triston looked around, and he started walking towards me. I pretended not to notice him and looked to the front of the room. He sat in the seat to my right. “Hi.” I said sweetly, looking at him. “Hey.” He responded. Thank you! I smiled.
