let's get down to business. *rose*
Rose sat in front of her frosted flakes as they grew soggy. She watched the white frosting melt. She watched it for many minutes, stirring it idly with her spoon. Finally, she dropped the spoon to the bar-counter. She pushed the bowl away. There was no way she was going to eat a bowl of frosted flakes that was made soggy with tears. She got up and put the milk, still uncapped, back in the fridge.

She had the fridge door almost closed, when something clicked. She yanked it back open and pulled the milk out. She checked the due date on the bottle. Still a week out. Her mind started racing, a timeline clicking in place. He went to the store only once a week. On Fridays. So this meant that he had to have gone missing sometime between Friday and today: Wednesday. That gave them a 5 day range. She put the milk back, then squatted down. She looked at the milk bottle straight on. It was 1/4 gone. He had had cereal for breakfast at least Saturday. Sundays they would usually have a treat. Waffles, donuts, omelettes... something like that. The milk wasn't gone enough to account for Monday's cereal, as well.

Rose hunted through the kitchen, but could not find a box of donuts or of waffles or waffle mix (though he really didn't like cooking them: he'd rather her make them, or buy them frozen). So there was no way to tell if he'd had breakfast Sunday or not. But that did put him going missing somewhere between Saturday morning and Monday morning.

"Hmph." she said to the empty kitchen, as she overlooked it, hands on hips. "So this is how its going to be?" she asked it. "Fine." she replied. "Let's just see if this comes out the way you expected."
Her mind raced, as she ran back upstairs to grab some of her things. They hadn't gotten rid of her yet, but if they had counted her out, they were about to be taught a lesson.

so, in response to Dragon's statement that Dragon would have flipped out, no, rose is not taking this in stride. Call it shock, if you must. Maybe even denial. But there is nothing calm about rose now.
License to kill, anyone???

Nah. I see say you're taking it well. Mainly because You aren't screaming in tounges and throwing stuff around the kitchen like a monkey on crack.
