Kaoru swam to shore and ran a little way up the beach then sat down in the sand. Her black and green striped swimsuit turned brown with the sand covering it. Drake ran up and sat next to her. Soon after so did Joel and Caleb. They all looked at each-other and laughed. Tallie ran up and sat with all of them. Now they had a circle of 5 people and Kaoru and Tallie waited to see what the guys had to say. Drake started first. "Uh. Kaoru can i talk to you privately?" Kaoru nodded and looked back at her sister. Nathan ran up just as Drake and Kaoru walked off.
Drake took Kaoru off about twenty feet away from where everyone else was sitting. "Uh. Kaoru? um. i dont know how to say this, but um, i, uh, like you." Kaoru sat with an awed expression on her face. "Kaoru? Did you hear me?" Kaoru shook her head and nodded. "I've liked you for a long time, Kaoru. And i figured tonight would be the best time to tell you and..." Drake trailed off as Kaoru slowly sat down in the sand. She looked at her hands and leaned her head down so Drake couldnt see it. "Kaoru?" she had no reply. Drake slowly walked off and sat back down in the circle. Tallie gave Drake a weird look and she got up and walked over to Kaoru. "Uh, sis? You okay?" kaoru shook her head and got up slowly. she ran back to the house and jumped into her bed as she got into her room.
