Personality
Asami is very fun, and very optimistic. She will pull a "look on the bright side" at what could be considered the worst possible times to do so, while cracking a smile that lights up the room. She does her best to keep the mood light and upbeat, even if friends are at each other's throats. She tends to get distracted very easily, and she hears "Dammit Asami, focus!" waaay too often from her friends. She'll try and avoid battles as much as she can, but if forced to, she'll battle with all her might. Her motto, "Kiipah comes first, everything else, second."
Backstory
Asami has no memory of her family, events before she was five, or even her own name.
She woke up in the woods in the dead of night, bruised and in pain as the light from a fire flickered on her face. She slowly inched her way towards the edge of the woods where the fire was, not realizing she was dragging a sword, as big as her, in her hand. When she reached the edge of the forest, she found a village on fire, littered with dead, bloody and burning bodies. She fell to her knees in horror, dropping the sword at her side. It was then that she noticed something small crawling away from the village. Asami ran over to it, and picked it up in her arms. It was a small baby dragon with seafoam scales, soft white underbelly, and little peach horns and wings. The dragon looked up at her with big black eyes, said "Kii.....paaaahh.." and passed out. With herself and the dragon bruised and beaten, Asami took the sword and searched for some shelter from the thunder clouds rolling in. She and the dragon spent the night in a small cave, that wasn't deep.
When daylight broke, she woke up to the dragon jumping on her tummy, with happy and hopeful eyes. She gave the dragon a pat on his head, and inspected the sword beside her. The handle of the blade had charms on strings for decoration, and three of the charms said, "Darling" "Daughter" and "Asami". She wasn't sure if she WAS Asami or not, but she liked the name and decided to call herself that. Asami looked at the baby dragon, and asked it where its parents were. The dragon gave her a blank expression, then snuggled up to her. Asami was gently petting the dragon, and asked if he had a name or not. The dragon looked at her, tilted his head, and said,
"Kii...?"
"..you don't have a name?"
"PAH!"
"...Kiipah? Is your name Kiipah?"
"Pah! Pah kiipah kii!"
"..you don't have a name?"
"PAH!"
"...Kiipah? Is your name Kiipah?"
"Pah! Pah kiipah kii!"
Since that day, Asami and Kiipah have never been separated. Asami honed her skills as a ninja on her own - but she only knew enough to be able to steal food here and there for Kiipah and herself. She was roaming around a small village one day, when the noticed a squad of 4 ninja walking, with headbands. It was the first time she ever saw one in person, and she decided she wanted one. Since she had no affiliation with any village, she stole a blank one, and carved "dragon" on it. She wears her headband on top of her head (in the same way Sakura Haruno wears hers). Shortly after stealing her headband, she was approached by a mysterious cloaked man, who asked her,
"Child, are you in need of a sensei? Someone to teach you the ways of the shinobi?"
"No thank you. I'm doing just fine on my own."
"If you say so...I was going to treat you and your dragon to lunch.."
"FOOD?! You should have said so sooner!"

Asami, being close to the age of seven, went under the teachings of the mysterious man she only knew as "Sensei". With her blade, and Sensei's teachings, she quickly increased her skills, until the day Sensei told her she was about to surpass him. At the age of thirteen, Sensei told her the story of the Dragon and the Queen. A story of legend and myth about a woman befriending a dragon, and taking their bond into ninjutsu, the Dragon Style. A powerful combination of Fire, Wind, and Lighting, that uses an immense amount of concentration and chakra. For the next four years, Asami did nothing but train everyday in the art of the Dragon Style. Although during these years she hardly ever tapped into the chakra natures on their own. Sensei taught her skills such as Dragon Dance, which allows her to temporarily increase her, or an ally's physical strength and speed. The more chakra she uses for the move, the longer it will last. Once Sensei told Asami that her training was fully complete, she was seventeen years old. Sensei passed away shortly after that, leaving everything to Asami and Kiipah.
