On a remote island in the ocean *rose's story*
The steam wafted his shirt lightly as Luman took a long drag on his cigarette. He stared out across the green jungle and out across the waters of the vast ocean. Out there somewhere, she was alive and well. He looked back behind him into the smoldering volcano.
Just a few more hours, and that lovely natrual phenomenon would take care of the last resistance to the plans.
Hopping off the edge, Luman swooped down from his perch, flicking his cigarette off to his left somewhere. He flew down into the jungle, easily dodging trees and vines. He passed a jaguar that had been about to pounce on a small furry mammal before his flight nearby scared it away. The cat followed him for a short while, and Luman flipped the cat off as he flew even faster, leaving the creature behind. He slowed quickly, and settled softly on a bamboo porch. He didn't bother walking quietly. None of his magical snares reacted to him, and his pet yeti snored quietly, allowing only one slitted eye to close again.
"So, Arxus. Having fun, are we?" he asked the man strung out in chains over a blue fire in the middle of the large room.
The man looked back at him, fury wrought across his face.
"What do you think this changes, Luman? It changes nothing!" he howled, as the flames flared to his waist and back down, singeing his fox-tail. The flames were magically tied to his anger, and they flared when he did.
Luman chuckled.
"What does it change? Nothing, really, I suppose. You won't tell me what I need to know." He lit a cigarrette calmly, still speaking. "No matter, that. You know I will find it. It can't be that hard. You never did embrace mother, you know. If you had, you might have been able to stop this. Pity. We would have been quite a pair, together."
The blue flames licked Arxus up to his neck and he writhed silently.
"Yes, yes. Nothing more to be said here." Luman said briskly.
He flicked his cigarrette behind him. His yeti calmly plucked it from the air and put it out on the bamboo floor.
"Well, off to find her then." Luman said, half turning.
"Oh! That's right." he said, laughing. "Forgot to tell you, old chap. I found your daughter. Pretty. Quite like her style in hair you know." he said, flipping his own casually. "But... you haven't seen her since she changed that. Which... means... you don't know, do you?"
Arxus' eyes changed from green to brown; halfway to demon-red.
"She earned her wings a bit ago. " Luman stated. "Fairy wings. 's how I found her, really. That, only a few beings out there that can and must earn their wings. Well, she hasn't got them now. No, now she's sporting a lovely red fox tail. I say it fits her nicely."
Arxus was beginning to howl, as his eyes were a bright amber color and the flames around him grew to his head.
Luman laughed joyously.
"Oh! It was great, though. Loved your little spot of protection, though. Thankfully, I know a few tricks, too. That beautiful little jewel on her head is red now, Arxus." Luman turned from him completely at that, certain he had done the trick. Behind him, the flames engulfed Arxus and rose to the roof, setting the bamboo treehouse ablaze. Arxus screamed a demonic curse as he lost control of his senses to the demonic blood in his veins he had denied for so many years wreaked havoc upon his body.
Luman allowed his yeto Yo-imashan to clutch onto his leg and he flew away.
Circleing, Luman watched as the volcano began to erupt far below him. The blaze from the hut had indeed turned red now. The body of his brother had now been totally consumed. Arxus' body would soon be covered by molten lava, and would be sealed under the rock indefinately. Demons were hard to kill, Luman thought, but half-demons were much easier, indeed.
Luman's eyes glittered as he soared across the ocean, headed back to Gaia again.

I understand. But If he comes near you... I'll protect you.
