She had been saving for a few weeks now. She finished up something on the box and put in new stuff that she was sure he would enjoy. Pictures of dates they had been on and funny lovey-dovey words. A hundred and forty nine things she loved about him and then some filled this box, but she figured the last item had to be special. Something he had been wanting for a while that he could use all the time. She understood that he only wanted things that were practical. She even asked him about it; whether he wish to travel some place new or receive something.
She choose to buy him a ring. Asked him about what styles he liked; what colors and designs. He sent her three of his favorites, and so she picked the one she thought he'd like best. It was rather simple, and fairly cheep considering her budget. It made her so happy knowing that she could finally be the one to buy him things he wanted. After that, she slept and waiting to talk him again in the morning.
Upon waking he greeted her and smiled. They talked about their days and how everything was going until the girl realized she had forgotten something: his ring size! And all day she waited to see when he would get off from work just so she could come by and find out for herself. Everything had to be perfect from him. Lucky enough, he ended up getting off work relatively early. He called her and said she should come by for a little bit, so she did.
After driving for about 30 minutes she reached his house and waited out side. He had already beaten her here and was mostly likely taking a shower real fast. It made her laugh at the thought. He eventually walked out side and knocked on her car door. She got out and walked with him inside, following him to the back office where you'd normally find his parents on their computers. After finding out his ring size they both left the room and went to sit at the dinner table. He asked her if she was hungry as he started preparing his dinner for the night. She had already eaten before she came, but she stole a bite from him anyway. It made him smile, and so she smiled.
After all was said and done, he told her he needed to cash his check from work. It took him a few minutes and she was getting to excited for her own good, telling him to hurry so that she could show him the rings she had picked out. He headed her his tablet and she went onto Amazon. She showed him the first ring and he seemed to be very pleased, kissing her head as he got up to put his dishes away. While he was doing that, the girl searched for the other ring- the one she felt was very special. It had a heart beat along the surface and it was made out of tungsten, just like he wanted. But when the boy came back, he looked over her shoulder and said something she wasn't expecting.
He thought the special ring she picked out was ugly and cheep, saying he would never wear it. She didn't say anything, but you could tell it hurt her a little bit. Fortunately the boy didn't notice, which made it a little easier to move on. She decided to text he sister about the issue it had on her plan. How she had been wanting to do this for their upcoming anniversary. But now she didn't know what to do. She put the tablet down and sipped on her water she had brought with her there.
A few moments pass and she notices that he is looking at more rings, different rings. He then shows her one that has caught his eye. She feels little uneasy about it as he asks her about this particular ring. It looked nothing like the ones he first showed her, and not at all like the one she picked out. But knowing it was what he wanted she nodded and said she would get it if thats what he wanted. She saw that this ring was more expensive that the one she picked out, and it would surely take her whole budget. She figured that she would have just enough for him though.
He started to notice that she wasn't acting right. She was quieter and keeping to herself, texting her sister more and not talking to him as much. He offered to go to his bedroom where they could watch something or talk. Without a word she got up and headed down the hall to his room. After about a minute, he asked her what was wrong. She didn't look at him, and stayed quiet. He wrapped his arms around her and asked again, only she kept her hands behind her back. He seemed to get a little irritated at her and asked once more.
Eventually she handed him her phone so that he may read what she and her sister were talking about. He put the phone down and asked her again what was wrong. It shocked her that he still didn't see how disappointed she was. It made her feel unappreciated and week, and as he asked her again he grabbed her head to force her to look at him. She didn't want to do this; she didn't want to cry. She backed up and pulled herself away. He was a lot angrier now, and demanded she tell him. She simply shook her head and stayed quiet.
He finally said he would let it go if she would only lay down with him. She stood there and for a moment didn't know what to really say. She told him she wouldn't lay down, but sit instead. So they both sat down in silence. Minutes went by and he finally asked her what they were going to do. She said that they could do anything he wanted, but all he wanted was for her to lay down with him. She refused and sat in silence once more.
Soon she got up and gathered her things. He quickly got up and blocked her from the door asking where she was going. Home she answered. By this point you could clearly see that he was frustrated and mad at her, and asked her again what was wrong with her. Nothing she said. He asked what did he do. Nothing she said again. Through angry eyes he stared at her and warned her this would be the last time he would ask. And she reminded him that he said he would let it go.
After a few hurtful things were said, all the while she keep her head down and spoke in a soft monotoned voice, he said that he didn't care if she went home by this point. He asked again what was wrong with her, and with her finally answer of nothing, he ordered her out. Once again she gathered her things and walked outside, getting into her car to go home. Not once did a tear fall, but sad thoughts slipped into her mind. Her heart sank and eventually her driving was taking a toll.
She ran a red light and was soon pulled over by a police man, only then did she notice her sadness and began to cry. The police came to her window and noticed her demeanor, asking the usual questions that police ask. She apologized for her driving and for her tears and asked the police before he left her car just to hear her story. Reluctantly he agreed and listened.
She began to tell how she planned to surprise her love with a ring of his very own, and how proud she was that she saved so much for him. She was excited to hand him his box and have him read all the things she wrote to him. She picked out something she thought he would like and spent so much time creating. but in the end he didn't even realize that he had hurt her feelings and that she just wanted to throw it all away. It made her start to cry more at this point. And in the end she asked the police a question: Why was it that she felt so hurt, when she should be happy that he is getting what he wanted?
The police didn't say anything and wrote her ticket and sent her away. As she got home, she asked her mother for a quick favor. They got on her computer and bought the ring he had picked out, giving every cent to her mother and thanking her. She then sat down and began to read the ticket the police gave to her, only to find that it was a note rather than a ticket.
"Look, I don't know you or him very well and Im sure you both are just misunderstanding each other. Life will do that to you every once in a while. All you gotta do is try your best and I'm sure he will see that you did everything you could for him. Love isn't easy, just takes time."
She smiled a little and put it away and got ready for bed.
And as you are reading this, I'm sure you are wondering if this is true. it was just a dream so calm down.
