Beware of the fangirl...The diary of a Gaian.
This is the diary of Dawna Celeste, just another ordinary Gaian...or is she?
Someone's idea of fun was to make fun of me...
Ok, I am never going to another party with Angel. I know she meant well, but... I should have seen something funny as soon as she started dressing me up in all this fancy clothes. Normally she likes to show off my bad dress sense, but this time she kept insisting on me getting dressed up, all the way to a flower-bedecked wig (with my hair pinned up underneath it) a cool whip that must have cost the world, and, despite my protests, a fancy belt with a G buckle. I insisted on wearing my usual long pants under short skirt and a bunny t-shirt to match my tail. Still, she said I looked good enough... Ha!
Well, I should have been warned when the fireworks went off as soon as we got to the seaside party site. However, I was too busy trying to wave away all the drink being offered, and didn't smell how fishy things were untill someone yelled "All hail the heir of Gambino!" The shout was repeated, hugely amplified, from the speaker system. I was horrified. How could they know?
Soon, I was angry instead. Everyone, Angel included, was laughing. They had made a joke out of me!
"What is the meaning of this?" I snarled, only to be met with more laughter. "Stop it!" I snaped, and turned around to leave.
"Aww, don't be a party pooper!" someone said. "It's just a bit of fun...or is it?" The last words were said in a teasing tone.
Suddenly I was grabbed by my arms and spun around, to find myself facing a mirror. Angel pulled my wig off, and as the pins fell out of my hair, which had curled from being under the wig, a purple light flashed across the mirror and my face. I found myself staring at a figure with the curling blond hair and purple eyes of the Gambinos!
A moment later the light went off, but it was too late. People were staring at me. Finally, with a nervous laugh, someone said "Wow, you really do look like Mr G..."
"Like Gino, you mean," another voice said. "Or should I say Gina..." He launched into an old and rather dirty joke about Gino Gambino being a girl.
I had had enough. Snatching up the wig and jamming it back on my head, I stalked away. I wanted to put the whip to good use on the silly crowd, but I didn't want to attract any more attention, so I restrained myself.
Now I sit on the deck of the hotel, waiting for Angel, who got home at two in the morning, to wake up. The opulence of her flat seems to repel me today and it's fun to look at the strange, shimmering reflections on the water, which seem to be much brighter then usual. I wonder what they are? Something like the will-o-the-whisp? They seem almost strangly inviting...
I'm tired of the Isle, tired of all the wealth, parties, tourists, and sillyness. I'm scared of going back home to Cindy's rage, which will lose me my job at the very least. I seem to be stuck in a horrid bind... I almost wish I hadn't sent Yama off to the mountains. Of course, he'd probably just get me in more trouble... I miss him anyway...
I hope all the people at the party got so drunk last night that they won't remember a thing about it. I don't want to give anyone any ideas...and that goes double for those that are true!
