"The Last Battle ~ Lucas King"

The Battle raged all around. Dreadnoughts moved across the sky letting their presence be known to all with their massive artillery. while on the ground moved massive tanks and walkers. Bravo Squad stood at the highest peak of the battlefield. All they could see was what remained of what was once a beautiful city, which was now just a burning pile of rubble. In the distance, they could see the Tactical Artillery Cruiser moving into position to start its Ion Bombardment of what was left of the city. The Squad Leader turned and said, "I have no right to ask any of you to follow me into battle, but will you follow me this last time." All raised their weapons and stepped forward. "Very well, let's move." As bravo squad made their run across the battlefield towards the Cruiser, Soldiers of those they called friends fell around them. Stray shots from the Massive Dreadnought Artillery landed all around them. creating a Hell on earth scene, but they pressed on. As they moved forth, One by one the members of bravo squad fell. Then right before reaching their target, a loud crack was heard as a bullet went straight through the chest of Bravo lead. As he laid sprawled out on the ground, he could see his squad moving forward, toward the massive cruiser that was nearly overhead and was slowly blotting out the Sun. He watched as only two members of the totaling eight rose up from the ground with their jetpacks. His eyes closed, and the sounds of the war slowly began to fade away. From the remaining squad's point of view, they could only see a massive flash as the Ion cannon detonated destroying the cruiser and the nearby dreadnoughts in a massive fireball. The radios went berserk demanding which squads were still alive. However, there was no response from any member... of bravo squad.
