people stop and they stare
at the small crippled child
though he doesnt notice
they laugh and they smile
he was born with no legs,
no arms, and no love
his parents disowned him
pushed him away with a shove
and so taken in by kind old man
who cared for him so
enough to make himself absorbed
in the kids lonely woe
and though the man takes
extreme gently care
the young child dies
in the old drifters chair
leaving nothing for him
but a small lock of hair
to remember him by
as the child who cared
