Project Revival #30 - The Supers
I'm actually quite surprised that I've (a) never written an entry whilst I was writing/planning this and (b) I've waited this long to do its Revival entry.

Anyways, today we'll talk about The Supers.
- The general concept is that there are two races of people - regular humans who are useless and don't have special abilities, and Supers, who are naturally gifted with superhuman abilities.
- The abilities can range from being kinda useless to being ... potentially dangerous? For example, I had a character who could increase the growth rate of plants. And no, not like producing monster/mutant plants as you might think. Like he'd look at a dandelion, channel all his strength into it, and it'd grow like 1cm.
- For the most part, this is known as a "basic power". It's quite weak and sometimes hard to control. For the Supers, if one loses control of their emotion, they can easily lose control of their power - someone getting angry can set their friend on fire accidentally, for example. Hence why society encourages / teaches people to oppress their emotions - for the safety of mankind, of course!
- There are also people who wield stronger, more controllable powers, known as "Hidden Powers". I'll touch more on this later.
- In this society, humans, being quite useless, are quite vulnerable and prone to living a short life span (i.e. if you're a human and you befriend a Super with fire powers, they can accidentally kill you). Because of this, humans are often seen as "privileged" and are often given high appointed positions, or they're allowed to "get ahead" in life just for being human. Also, human genes are recessive. Their population is rapidly declining as they die and/or reproduce with Supers.
- Back to "Hidden Powers". There are two groups of people that are know to wield these powers - the Heroes and the Villains. The Villans are a sketchy group who do not believe that humans should have all these benefits for being super useless, and are on a mission to take 'em out / prove to the world that Supers should be the one on top (after all, they are the ones with cool powers!!). The Heroes are a group with a mission to protect humankind, preserving their race and history (since it was a human that created the Supers race). The two groups, run by a pair of siblings, recruit and train young Supers with Hidden Powers to fight each other, and sometimes run errands.

A big part of this universe is the irony. Are the Heroes really the heroes, and are the Villains really the villains? The MCs navigate their training as young Villains as well as navigate the social pressures of high school (yuck!) in this complex-ly designed society. I really like the concept of this story and I'd like to bring it back someday.
