~Life According To Ellie~
This Journal is all about my thoughts and ideas and pretty much anything I want to type about. Most of the time you will find posts about my adventures here on Gaia, what I do, the people I meet, the experiences I make, the games I play, etc. I hope
Why is Gaia so Important to me?
Hello Readers,

I have been a part of Gaia Online since I was about 8 years old and the website was open to almost anyone at the time. When the world started becoming more sensitive toward children and what they could play and the variety of a place that attracted adults versus kids Gaia froze accounts until you were the correct age to come back and use your primary account. Because of this come on you know what every young kid would do...create a new account I am guilty of this when I became of age I deleted my original account and kept my newly created one. Time went by and I forgot the login to it. Let's be honest at the time back in the early 2000s we weren't smart enough to keep a document saved with our passwords and in constant fear of having them stolen I wrote them in dozens and dozens of notebooks. Of course with time these were destroyed or thrown out forgetting that they were covered front to back with these passwords. So even with trying to recover my account I was unable to. I left for a while in disappointment that I have lost everything, when I couldn't stay away and made Ellie. This is of course many years in the future. I started playing Gaia Online in 2005 in its early stages of development. Throughout the years I have seen it grow and decline.

As Gaia continues to strive to keep up with today's world you can see a difference from the flash games no longer working 100% except for ZOMG to the amount of people who are on nowadays. There is a huge decline. But what keeps people like me coming back for more? People who just can't stay away. Honestly in my opinion it's the nostalgia of still having a piece of childhood to hold onto. When you have been around something for almost your entire life it is so hard to let go. Gaia is and was so much fun! Having a journal which is their rendition of having a blog, I wrote in it on a consistent basis and as you can see I still do. The idea it has a virtual pet, avatar, chatting and virtual world platform, games, and everything you really need to stay entertained for hours all in one place. This is what makes Gaia so perfect it has everything in one place. It has so much to do that it can make for a good time waster. I remember the times where I would go into tiles, earn tickets and sell them on the marketplace. Gaia teaches about the stock market and honestly I play my hand in the market and Gaia economy and that keeps me around as well. Watching my gold intake rise is so satisfying.

Once upon a time I always dreamed of one day working for Gaia it is still a dream today. A faulted one but it's still there, I went into English Literature and graduated with a bachelors not long ago I wanted to do something with writing. I wanted to be a blogger for a company, social media manager, or PR/HR for a company. Being one for a virtual world company would be my dream job. Selling was something I was good at persuading in my writing is something that naturally occurs. With time I went into teaching instead but at some point I'd like to still strive for this goal.

As you can all see Gaia holds a special place in my heart, childhood, and is a huge part of my life. Even though I leave I always end up coming back for more.
