Rage is a four letter word. A bold four letter word. *rose*
We made good time getting to the house. Me, ANTIE, and my pets stopped well short of the garden. Looking around, Olay! spotted a white van with the windows blacked out. So I sent him and ANTIE to go take care of it. Olay! led ANTIE over there. It was quiet for about ten minutes, and then my communicator lit up.
"Yes?" I asked, and then I saw my borg ANTIE's face appear on the screen.
"Rose, there were two men manning the vehicle. I am going to stay here to keep up appearances. This was their communication hub, and I think I can mimic the operators' voices and call signs, thanks to Olay!. He climbed in and managed to let me spy on them before he took them out."
"Olay! took the two guys out?" I asked, surprised by my fox mink's ability.
"Yes."
"Wow. Okay. We'll be heading in through the back laundry entrance, then, all right?" I said, trying to confirm with ANTIE.
"Check." she said, and then my communicator went dark.
"Let's go." I said, and directed my three pets around me.
We snuck around to the back of the house, passed the kitchen entrance quietly, and came upon the laundry room. The door was one of those two-level doors, where you could open the top and leave the bottom open. Apparently, mom had wanted to be able to feel the breeze and see the outdoors from the small laundry room as well as be able to go right out back and hang out her blankets to sun-dry. The top level of the door had been opened, and I had Kipper smell the air near the door. He whispered that there were only very faint scent traces of people, probably from their search of the house, but that they were not nearby. I nodded.
"But, you should know," Kipper told me, "that they are not human."
I nodded. Not unexpected.
"What are they?" I asked, very quietly.
"Red fox neko." He answered.
"Great." I mumbled. "Well, let's go."
I turned the handle, and opened the door without a creak. The pets slipped in first, and, as we had planned, Niko sprinted for the parlor, and Tuft ran and gaurded the front door. From my heat-display, I could tell that everyone in the house was downstairs. Three in the kitchen near the basement door, one in the parlor and the other in the den. Kipper took off after the one in the den, and I walked to the kitchen. Knowing they would smell me before they heard or saw me, I had my swords drawn. I really love being able to summon clothes and items from my wardrobe.
Turning the corner into the kitchen, I saw that two of them were focused on the door to the basement, trying to break it open. The third was looking out the back glass door facing the backyard. He was the first to notice me, only seconds before the others caught my scent.
The first one lept at me overhanded with a scythe, which I parried from below with my right sword, and swept my left sword across his exposed middle. He doubled over just in time to allow the other two to come at me. One bared only his claws- he must have been the one physically trying to break the lock, and the other had a gun. Eyes wide as he lowered his gun to aim at me, time moved slowly.
I wrapped the gun in thick air, and when he squeezed the trigger, the bullet moved to the end of the barrel, and then stopped there. The neko looked perplexed, and turned the gun around to look at it. The other neko was looking at it, too. Then I released the air, and the bullet started to fall harmlessly to the floor. Before it was picked up by another flow of air, which spun it around and shot itself into the gun-toting neko's stomach. As did five other bullets made only of air. The force actually knocked him over. I smiled, and the other Neko just looked at me for a second, before trying to run. He didn't get far, considering that after two steps he was encased in a box of air three feet by three feet in width and lenth, that went up almost to the ceiling- leaving only inches to spare, so he could breathe. Satisfied, I left him there for the moment, and ran off to find Niko and Kipper. In the hall, I found Kipper and Tuft. Tuft was still pounding away at the head of the fox-neko that was not going to move again, ever. Kipper just sat there, wagging his tail. Which I wish he wouldn't because he was smearing the blood on the tile around, making it more messy. I nodded, and turned to go to the parlor.
If I ever thought Niko was a normal coco, I never would forget again. She was biting the fox-neko's shoelace, like any normal cat might. But the shoelace was attached to a foot that was attached to half a leg. And the other half was attached to... most of the rest of the fox-neko's body. Except for a couple other parts that seemed missing. You know, like, the left hand and the right upper arm. Both ears and all it's hair.
"Damn." I said, looking around, almost afraid to move, worried that I might step on a part of the intruder. I shook my head. "You're cleaning this up, you know." I said, and left the room. My stomach thanked me.
Going back to the kitchen, there was the intruder, digging a hole through my tile floor, trying to escape.
"Oh, no you don't." I said, and changed the air wall. It became a wrap, and I picked him up with it and brought him to me. I used the hilt of my kitana and thunked him on the head with it.
Good and unconscious, I brought him down into the bunker. ANTIE was there, waiting with the little information she had about them, and she helped set up, in holoroom 1, a small inescapable prisoner cell, complete with one way mirrors for interrogation and surveillance. ANTIE monitored the room strickly. The pets began cleaning the house upstairs, and I sat, behind that mirror, silently watching the curious fox-neko intruder, waiting for the adrenaline to run out of my system.
