July 31, 2006 (Poem) WORKPLACE CONTEMPLATION Standing behind a wall of wood Waiting for a new face to see I think of my life and how much of it Still remains a complete mystery to me. For five years now I have worked in this place Never really complaining, always a smile on my face But now I wonder 'where do I go next?' Is it too late now to get out of this mess? Would it be too hard to get out of this field How far could I go, how much would I yield? For now I can only imagine my possible fate As I finish up serving customer number eight.
