Maplestory - let's predict what would happen if reboot died
Some of y'all piss me off lmao.

When I say died, I mean one of two things:

1) the deletion or merging of Reboot servers to Reg servers (unlikely)
2) a significant drop in population where Reboot server populations look like that of Aurora or Burning servers

Regardless of which outcome, Reboot servers would basically be functionally dead.

As we all know, the recent announcement of meso nerfs fired a warning signal - a distress signal - that the end is near for Reboot. With this sentiment, certain people out here really think this means Reg servers will undergo a renaissance, a revival, a resurrection! Hallelujah! They truly deluded themselves into believing that Reboot players will flock to Reg servers once the Reboot servers become unplayable. What a cute thought.

Yes, if the nerfs come, Reboot and Reg servers would be essentially the same with the major differences being trading and the Auction House, so therefore, people should swap to what-would-be the better servers (Reg). I'm not discounting that. But, do you really think, in your right mind, people would switch to Reg servers that easily? Let's lay some things out.

Do you really think Reboot players WANT to rebuild their legion? As in, redo the countless hours to get back to where they were in Reboot. I understand the necessity of legion, but my concern is having to go through that whole process of working towards 8000+ legion AGAIN. I don't know about you, but it's not a fun process; it's an annoying waste of time.

Similarly, what makes you think players want to redo Sixth Job again? To grind for fragments again? I like the game but not as much to grind to 260 again and to grind for fragments again.

Speaking of grinding, symbols. Do you really think people want to redo their symbols, particularly Grandis symbols? We all know how s**t it is to level up symbols so I'm not really sure why y'all think people would run to start over in Reg in a snap.

What makes you think Reboot players want to become involved in the markets as a means to progress? To play the markets, to merch, to trade. Sure, this is a key aspect of Reg servers, I'm not yucking on that. What I'm saying is the market and trading aren't always within the interests of Reboot players in regards to progression. I know it isn't for me; I have zero interest in learning how to play the market and trading with other players in order to have any semblance of progression.

What makes you think people want to trace their gear and roll bonus potentials? In other words, do you think people want to be concerned with MORE upgrade systems. Starforcing and main potentials are already hell enough to go through, I don't think players want more things on their plate.

Some of y'all make frenzy services sound like a necessity to grind and level up. If that's the case, why should players WANT that to be another in-game expense (through mesos duh)?

Whether it be all of these concerns, one, or any combination of these, I ask again, do you people really believe that Reboot players would make the switch and establish themselves in Reg servers and deal with all these things? Reboot streamlined a majority of these processes for progression, so I don't know why there would be an outcome where a significant percentage of players would turn to servers where there are multiple things to juggle to progress. Keep in mind, life exists beyond this game and a majority of the player base are adults, so I'm not too sure if people have the time commitment to start over (lol look at me huffing and puffing about this when I could be touching grass). Let's think from different perspectives here. Let's think about why people would rather quit than switch.

Keep up with the wishful delusions, I guess. You're a dreamer, you dream a lot.

P.S. I don't give a ******** if Reg servers are supposedly the reason for keeping the game alive (the data is not available to us but let's assume it's true). Disrespectfully, it's not mine nor players' obligation to throw money at cubes (for now) or RNG boxes in a free to play game. If that's how Nexon wants to make profits, then that's Nexon's choice of business model. So, if y'all want to side for a company and want to assume personal responsibility for that, then be my guest lmao.
