The other day I was watching the music video to a very sexy song with a mix between rock and some sort of eighties pop beat with just a hint of something that just makes you want to dance with it. The singer in this video had neat, bleach blond spiky hair and a young, cool look to him. This was Gackt, and I was smitten. In an impulse to hear more of this mans talents, I looked him up on a music video website. However, what I found didn't seem right. One of his songs had him in a combination gothic-victorian outfit and short brown hair and singing something of a very different genre of the song I knew. Then there was the hard rock song I found after that with him sporting long hair and dreads and surrounded by his band, all of whom literally throwing themselves to the music. Did Gackt have siblings?

The answer is, no, these are all the same Gackt I first became a fan of. You see, dear reader, Gackt has a habit of reinventing himself for every CD that comes out. So every different image I saw of him was from a different CD. He is a weird one though. After surviving a near death experience when he was young, he claimed to have inherited paranormal powers. However, if these powers of his help him come out with wonderful music, by all means, keep using them. Since Gackt seems to change from moment to moment, it's pretty easy to find a side of him that you can like. Personally, I like all of his music, but others have found that they like his softer sides. But, unless you have a strong dislike for music you can't understand or don't like male singers, Gackt will most likely hit your good side somewhere along the way.
