OLD POEM! from MAY of '05! but I just love it and I felt like posting it. -_-* don't ask about the story

Caged Free.

my heart is broken
for the words unspoken
because he who holds the key
has locked me up inside

up inside myself
where I can't breath
where I can't escape,
the real me

the darkness closes
but the mirror still shines
and all the painful things
will come rushing back in time

here he comes,
with the key to my cage
but he turns away
so I stay trapped with my rage

the mirror shines brighter
and I see the real me
and now I see
I haven't been caged
I've always been free

so I spread my wings
fly towards the mirror
but the painful things
form the chain that binds me down

so I struggle,
with all my might
to fly out of here
towards the light

I finally break the chain
and I hit the glass
it shatters like bloddy rain
but I finally reach my light

now I can breath
and the painful things wash away now I'm free
free to live another day
