Fullmetal Alchemist: Old Wounds Resurface
This is a really good story I found on www.fanfiction.net by Chi Yomomotou, it's not mine but I thought is was really good.
Chapter 4
Kuro stood there, furious with Izumi for acting like she didn’t care about Mason’s death. Her breathing increased and her fists came up into a fighting position. “Why do you just stand there and not mourn for your loss?” she yelled. “I don’t care about the stupid Homunculi!”

“Mourning for Mason won’t bring him back,” answered Izumi. “As for the Homunculi, you attempted a human transmutation, is that correct?”

“So what of it?” spat Kuro. “I’m prepared to try it again—he didn’t deserve this and I brought it here no matter what you say. It won’t change the fact that he’s dead.” Her body shook. Tears flooded her eyesight. “Why—why did this happen? If I wasn’t so damn weak none of this would’ve happened.”

“Kuro—this proves that you’re human,” said Izumi softly.

“What if I don’t want to be human anymore; I hate this life!” Kuro cried in resentment and distress. She ran out the door and down the street. Away from it all, she didn’t care how long she ran or where she went. She just wanted to get as far away as possible.

“Izumi—“ said Sig helplessly.

“I’m ok,” said Izumi. “Tell Ed and Al what happened if I don’t get back before they do. I’m going to go and find Kuro.” Sig nodded his silent approval. Izumi ran after Kuro without a second thought. She could no longer concern herself for Mason since his life left him; all she could do was focus on keeping all she held close to her alive after she died.

“Kuro!” she cried, having spotted the teen running down a deserted alleyway. Kuro looked over her shoulder before running harder and faster. “Damn kid!” she yelled and used alchemy to stop Kuro from running. A wall built itself up and blocked her from running any further. “Kuro, I do mourn for Mason’s death, but not in the way you do.”

“Why should I give a damn, you mother ******** b***h!” screamed Kuro as loud as she could. “It’s like you said, Mason’s dead and we have to move on with our lives. Well I’m moving alright—AWAY FROM HERE!”

“Let your anger out,” said Izumi calmly. “You can beat me to the ground if you so desire to, it is less than I deserve though—for my own sins.”

“Who gives a damn about your sins!” yelled Kuro. She ran at full speed at Izumi and collided with the older woman. Her fists made contact with face. “I—HATE—YOU—YOU—DON’T—EVEN—CARE—ABOUT—DEATH!” she screamed with each hit.

“Sensei!” cried Al from behind.

“Get off of her Kuro!” ordered Ed coming up behind his younger brother. Kuro looked up at them. “Get off of her,” he said again calmly.

“Why should I?” asked Kuro. “This is what she deserves. She said it herself! She doesn’t even care that Mason-san is dead!”

“Mason’s—dead,” said Ed. His eyes shadowed over as he knelt on his hands and knees.

“See Sensei, everyone else is mourning for his death! So why not you?” cried Kuro. “Why—he was your friend—I don’t understand.” Tears fell on Izumi’s face. Kuro wiped them away in a hurry to hide her sadness. Her head hit Izumi’s shoulder. “I’m so sorry—I’m sorry for everything!” She sobbed into her Sensei’s shoulder.

Izumi rubbed the sobbing teens upper back soothingly. “There’s no need to feel pity for yourself. I’m the one who should’ve stopped Mason’s death. I should be the one apologizing to you; not the other way around. Kuro, I want you to promise me something before we go back.” Kuro looked up at her. Her red eyes held back more tears. “Don’t cry any more and don’t attempt a human transmutation. The same goes for you, Edward and Alphonse Elric; don’t even so much as think of reviving him.” Her voice and eyes turned dangerous as she gave her orders to both Elric brothers.

“Sensei—I swear it on my life,” said Ed. He remembered back when she had told Al and himself of her own attempt of human transmutation on her son and created the Homunculus Wrath.

“C’mon Kuro,” said Izumi softly. “On your feet. We shouldn’t be out here.” She helped Kuro stand and led her to Ed. “If we’re attacked, take her to the Shop, warn Sig, and transmute the building into pure steel. Am I understood?”

“Hai,” answered Ed. “Al, if things get too out of hand, I’m intrusting you with Kuro’s safety.”

“Nii-san,” cried Al. Edward looked at him seriously. “I’ll do my best,” he said in defeat.

Ed led Kuro away from the alley with Izumi and Al to either side. He held her close like he did before in his room. “Nothing will happen to you, I promise,” he whispered in her ear. She nodded, numb to everything around her.

A woman with a long black dress jumped from a building and landed in front of them. Her long black hair flew slightly in the night breeze. Red eyes gleamed in the moonlight. In the middle of her neck the clear Oroboris could be spotted.

Authoress Note: I’m not sure of the spelling, so please help me for future references. Thank you!

“Lust,” growled Ed. He forced Kuro behind him protectively. “What do you want?”

“Only what my master sent me here for,” answered Lust. The Homunculus looked behind Ed and smiled evilly at the girl behind him. “Kuro, my master has interests with you.” Her fingers extended to full length.

Izumi stood in front of the Elrics’ and Kuro. “Run,” she ordered.
